Jordan Kettelkamp Block Edit

I think my first time seeing Jordan ride was at the first Razor Exposed Tour stop, or possibly one of the SD Comps. I remember him being pretty quiet, but his riding could catch anyones attention easily. He's one of the few riders that makes hard tricks look like they're easy. This video shows a bit of his tech ability as well, I'd be down to see a full tech edit from Jordan, cause some of the combos he does look really good. Check out his edit below.

ELYTS "The Road to Epicness"

If you were at the Epic Street comp, you already know ELYTS was there, doing their thing. Being stationed in So Cal, means they had a pretty long road trip down to Nor Cal where the competition was being held. Naturally, ELYTS Filmer and Editor Phillip Long was filming at various stops and spots along the way. This is the result.

Joey Aria: Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning

It's not everyday that a rider surfaces, and he happens to be extremely unique and original. In a sport that sometimes feels as if it's filled with mindless sheep, all following the latest and greatest.. it is really refreshing to see riders like Joey Aria.

Ever since Joey started to get noticed people recognized him quickly for the different style he had. One of the main things that stuck out were his incredibly complex and difficult lip tricks on quarters, spines, and mini ramp decks. Though you don't see too many in his latest edit, it is still a gem. Check it out below.

ELYTS Presents the "Do it Big" Tour

Scooter Zone Santa Clarita Shop OPEN SOON

Scooter Zone has already set itself apart from other companies in our sport in more ways than one. However, one of the main ways that they continue to stand in a league of their own, is the fact that they are one of the only company to own multiple walk in scooter shops, and the only scooter company to own 4 walk in shops.

Adam Stewart 2011 Edit

Hmm.. Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Unlike the 80% of trendy US riders who hate on Aus riding just "because"..I actually like most Aus videos. People need to accept that different parts of the world = different styles of riding.

Adam really exemplifies the type of Aus riding that I really enjoy watching. He goes huge, and throws down ridiculous combos. Not to mention hitting one of the biggest street gaps I've seen done in a while. Crazy video, with some crazy tricks. Check it out below.

Razor Video 12

Razor USA releases a video every two weeks and this video has 3 riders John Radtke, Jason Beggs, and Me(Chris Gascoigne). Jason has killer clips in this video and John seriously throws down. This was filmed over the course of about one week. Ricky Wernicke edited this video and it turned out great. I personally love Ricky's editing style, that mixed with John Radtke's filming brought together by Acoustic Productions made this edit awesome. Keep an eye out for future Razor videos to be released every two weeks on mondays.

Razor Metal Core Review

About two weeks ago John Radtke invited me to go down to Cerritos, Ca with him where Razor USA is located and I jumped on the opportunity. While there I met several people who play key roles in Research and Development helping to produce all of Razor's new line of products. Among these new products were new wheels. Ali Kermani, Team Manager for Team Razor, had grabbed a few sets and John Radtke threw a set on his scooter. His reaction was instant, he glared at me and said "These are the fastest ****ing wheels i have ever ridden.". At that time i had some skepticism about weather or not these wheels would live up to what John had just claimed. I wanted to try these out for myself so i stepped on John's scooter and took just 1 push and I was zipping in and out of pallets around the Razor warehouse, I found that I had made a full circle back to John on just 1 push. I was amazed. After that Ali asked me if I would be interested in doing a review on the wheels for Inside-Scooters. Well we all know my answer to that question. After that Ali had handed me a set to try out at the skatepark and street and where ever else to ride and gather an opinion for a review.

Once Ali handed me the wheels they were on my scooter within minutes. John and I decided to go ride Ayala Skatepark in Chino, Ca. We got there and I threw my helmet on and started carving the bowls and found that I had way more speed than I had did the previous day with a different set of wheels. Now I am sure you all get the point of my opinion on how fast these wheels are! I am going to move onto some other key features and some pros and cons.

The wheel urethane is made from a nice 88a compound poured onto a 6061 billet aluminum core. It has been in my experience that the higher the durometer the harder the wheel. Again, to my surprise, these wheels are not only soft and have plenty of grip but they have to speed to match. Now the aluminum core is super thick with plenty of material left around the bearing races for support against ovalizing.

Now some of the cons I am seeing with these wheels as of now are mainly the weight issue. Having a thicker core adds weight. This also adds strength which is honestly a trade off that is well worth it. To me, these wheels will make a statement when released that no longer are they sitting on the side lines watching the market they created go without high quality product. I can see Razor reaching quality in the range of companies like Phoenix Pro Scooters and Lucky Scooter Parts.

Now at this time I do not have an available release date for these wheels. I also do not know exactly how long these wheels will last. So what I intend to do is to do a progress report a few months down the line to update you all on the quality and longevity of the wheels.

Jon Devrind- Express Yourself

ECX and Phoenix's Jon Dev recently came out with this edit, filmed over 4 days.  Tons of pretty sick lines and combos, just the usual JonDev way.  Super tech stuff.

East2West's Tyler Larm Interview

I'm quite ashamed to say that before Tyler Larm's East2West edit, I wasn't aware who he was. However, after finishing that video, I knew exactly who he was, he was one of my new favorite up and coming riders. Tyler has got such a sick style and a lot of good tech tricks. I recently caught up with Tyler, and got an interview done. Check that out below.




Steven: Tyler Larm, what's going on man? How've you been?

Tyler: I cant complain man. Just been working, shredding, racing my dirtbike, training for races, but most of all trying to heal my foot up so i can really start riding again and getting some more footy for an upcoming video from Joe Riley, Jon Devrind, and I. Its going to be a super legit street video, stoked on that.



Steven: Damn..Joe, Jon, and Yourself in one video...Can't wait. So tell us a little bit about how you got involved in the sport dude.

Tyler: Well I used to ride bikes back in the day, and when my older brother and his friends stopped, I grabbed a scooter, and started hopping over sewer caps and curbs, then i started doing actual tricks and never stopped, just progressed over the years. Its just something that is fun and I just caught on to since the start. Its just fun, and thats why i still shred now.




Steven: Good stuff man. You got a distinct style when you ride, there is a lot of tech/bmx influence in your riding. Who are some riders both in or out of our sport that influenced your riding?


Tyler: Well the rider that influences my riding most is probably Nick Darger. I love all the tech he does and all the manual and grind combos, and he does it all so clean. Another rider that influences my riding is Jodan Jasa. I love all his tech combos. there just so fun to watch.

Steven: Haha good old, Trick Darger! We've seen you ride park, flat, and street. Do you prefer one over the other?

Tyler: Well my favorite thing to ride is just a simple manual pad, I could ride one all day and never get bored. Other than that i love to ride flat and any fun-box. Im not much of a park rider, its just not that fun for me, but I will ride a nice quarter, just prefer street or flat over a park.



Steven: I'm right there with ya on that one. So you ride for East2West. How did you get the sponsorship, and how has it been so far?

Tyler: Yes I ride for East2West. I was on there website and saw that they were putting together a flow team, so i figured i woud send my next edit to them. I like it so far. they've hooked me up with some things and i have no complaints. Brandon is a chill person and he's easy to get along with. Glad to be on East2West, its such a growing company that is getting more legit by the day.




Steven: Yeah, I really admire them as well. Your latest video has you riding pegs, how do you like em?

Tyler: Yeah man, I like them. They've added a bunch of new combos and tricks to my riding. I really like the pegs and theres not any bad things to say about them. Everyone should go buy them because they are well worth the cheap price and can add so many fun tricks to your list. I love them already.





Steven: Who are some of the riders that you ride with on a daily basis?

Tyler: Well the main people I shred with on a daily basis are Joe "Gypsy" Riley, Cody Cunliffe, who is also on E2W, and Keith Egnatuk, or otherwise known as Keeta. A few other people i ride with are Justin Chanona, Brandon Gondolf, Ryan Lesher, Vince Borrelli, and Ive ridden with Jon Devrind a few times when he goes to Joe Riley's house.



Steven: Nice solid list. Some of the combos or lines in your videos are extremely difficult...Were there any times during filming where you wanted to give up on one because it was so hard to land? If so, tell us about it.

Tyler: Hell yeah man. Some combos just get me pissed and really dizzy to the point where I have to take a break in order to walk straight. But if i really just relax and take a break, I have a better chance of landing the line or combo. Its all part of it though and i just gotta keep trying, I dont just give up, if I get into a line or combo, I wont stop until I land it.



Steven: Love the dedication dude. What do you got on your agenda for the rest of the summer?

Tyler: Just going to keep shredding, heading out to some more races, and filming with Joe and Jon for our "Gypsy Magic" Street video that is going to be out before summer is over. Its going to be super legit.




Steven: We'll def. get that up on ISB when it's done. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview with us at IS. Do you got any last words or shout outs bro?

Tyler: Na man no problem, thank you for doing the interview. I just want to say thanks to everyone whose helped me and rode with me. And a huge thanks to Brandon from East2West for helping me out and hooking me up with some sick stuff. Im really looking forward to the future and we have such a good team, everyone shreds hard. Hopefully ill get a chance to ride with some of the other team members soon. To sum it up, just do your own thing, and ride however you want. As long as the sport grows, then we can keep riding, and having a good time.

ShopECX Gets Fresh

Here are a few updates for you guys regarding, ShopECX.



Team ECX has teamed up with Freshpark portable ramps! The guys at Freshpark sent the team some of their new portable ramps to try out and take on the road for the summer tour. (just in case we got bored with the local parks) A few weeks ago the guys stopped over and built all of the ramps. 2 Quarter Pipes, a Funbox, Spine, Rail, Pole Jam and Manual Pad. It only took them about an hour to put everything together including the wheels kits that allow you to roll the ramps anywhere! After putting everything together, the guys rolled the ramps up the street to a local basketball court where they proceeded to shred for almost 4 hours!
