GTLI DVD: Justin Robertson
This is Justin's part from the Scooterzone DVD that came out a year ago. Filmed over the span of two and a half years, this features footage from Justin's local park and spots as well as American spots and parks. I was a little disappointed by the lack of big street clips, which is what I love seeing Justin do the most, but he still shreds with his unique bag of tricks. He really has those 720s dialed.

Justin Robertson: Epic Rewind Promo
It's been a while since we last saw footage of Justin, but don't think that that's because he hasn't been riding. This was filmed over the last two weeks. Justin is one of the first people I can remember that really started messing around with fakie feebles and he still kills them. A bunch of fakie feeb combos and more tech stuff are in this video. If you're missing his street footage like I am, know that he has a full part in the upcoming Scooterzone DVD GTLI. It should be good.

Justin Robertson- Times are Changin
Haven't seen much footy from Justin lately, stoked to see some more. This is an edit he filmed just at his local park recently. As you can expect, some ridiculous combos and creativity like usual. Justin has the skills.

Scooter Zone's Matt Somers Driveway Edit + Justin Robertson How To 540 Air
Matt Somers can kill it in the streets, we already know that. But that doesn't mean he can't still have fun in his driveway. Just a really chill edit, with some sick tech riding. Loving this video. Last trick is just, what.
Next up we got Scooter Zone's only Canadian rider, Justin Robertson teaching us how to do 540 Airs. We've seen Justin boosting em in videos for a couple years now. Here's how he does them.

Justin Robertson Scooter Check
Scooter Zone's one and only rider in Canada is Justin Robertson, and for good reason. In the past two years Justin took his riding to a new level. Throwing down intense tricks down some really gnarly gaps and sets. His tech side of his riding got really strong as well. Check out the scooter he's currently riding right now, and some clips of him afterwards.

Justin Robertson Joins The Scooter Zone Family
Justin Robertson has come a long way from the rider we first saw a few years ago.
Basically, one day Justin just decided he was going to turn into a street destroyer, so he did. Justin has always struggled when it came down to finding sponsors that he could fit in with. MGP didn't work out, and that left Justin sponsorless. When he reached out to Scooter Zone, it was basically a done deal. Someone with as much talent as Justin, and someone who continues to progress like he does, is valuable to any company.
Inside-Scooters would like to congratulate Justin on becoming a part of Scooter Zone!
Check out his Welcome edit below. Which is just jam packed of ridic.
You guys can meet Justin when SD6 rolls around in January. He will be at the contest along with all of the other SZ Team riders.

MGP West Coast Tour Teaser

MGP recently took a tour of the West Coast, riding various spots and parks along the way. The entire tour was captured on video, and the full edit will contain some insane riding.
The full video will drop tomorrow here on Inside-Scooters in the late afternoon. For now, you get the teaser.

Justin Robertson Spring 2011 Edit
Justin never ceases to amaze me. The most ridiculous tricks down the biggest sets, and some of the most tech combos you'll ever see. Continuing to one up himself, makes me wonder when he's going to reach his limit...so far though it seems like he won't be hitting it anytime soon.

Justin Robertson Madd QCS/Madd USA Winter Edit
Another Madd edit has dropped, this time from the most recent US rider, Justin Robertson. Justin, although he's on the US Madd team, lives in Canada. This means that he experiences snow every winter, and so is forced to ride indoors. He did manage to get some clips at his outdoor local though. Winter hasn't seemed to slow his progression, with frontflip combos, nosemanual/hang five combos, and more in this video. I can't wait to see Justin's next video, I hope he can get some street clips.

Madd Welcomes Two New Riders!
Madd Aus and Madd USA both recently added one rider each to their teams. The lucky Aussie joining the ranks of Coedie Donovan & Co. would be none other than Luke Burland. The 16 year old definitely seems like a good fit for the team, being another overall park shredder.
The rider joining Madd USA is not, in fact, from America. He is known for his huge street tricks, and technical combos. He's been sponsored by a couple companies before now but none nearly as big as Madd. Who am I talking about? The one and only Justin Robertson of Canada. Justin brings new talent to the US Madd team with his amazing street riding. I'm definitely stoked to see him picked up by company like Madd, and I'm sure his fellow Canadians are proud of him.
You can read a profile of each rider on the Maddgear website.

Justin Robertson Interview.

Justin Robertson: Thanks man. Not gonna lie I usually feel the same way after you drop a new vid too haha. When it comes to street I guess I'm just dumb enough and pretty much willing to try anything and sesh anything when I'm in the mood for it. For the tech stuff I've been working a lot on it lately. I haven't been riding as much street cause I always break my decks so I've been more into tech and park tricks lately. Just recently it seems like tech got a whole lot easier for me and I've been learning new combos like crazy, just working on getting them dialed now. Some tricks in that video I'm not even sure how I managed to do though haha.
Before you film a video, do you know what tricks you wanna get, or do you just film as you go?
I usually have a list of tricks I want to accomplish before hand. By the time I finish my video though I usually only did like 3 of those tricks. Then like 75% are just random tricks I came up with at the time and the other bit are tricks i one up'ed from what I wanted.
What was the hardest thing for you to film in this video?
Hmm, to be honest it was probably one of the smaller things. I'd say the bar to manual to around the world drop in on the quarter. For some reason I just remember that taking me forever to finally get haha everytime I went to do the around the world I'd keep spinning so I'd end up dropping in like sideways/to fakie, I just couldn't get it to work out right.
Do you find tech or big riding more difficult than the other, or are they the same for you?
Tech tricks are by far more difficult for me, I can do quite a range of things but I don't have a lot of them on lock. Big riding's just natural to me, seems like I can throw anything down like a big set or something and get it first or second try pretty much. With tech it usually takes me a lot longer, I've been working on smaller stuff a lot more recently though and I've been getting a lot more on lock and more consistent but still not quite as consistent as I'd like to be with my tech game.
During the course of filming this video, how many parts did you break?
Since I barely rode any street I didn't break to much actually haha umm 2 decks, 1 wheel and I think that's it really. A lot better then usual haha.
I can't help but notice you don't have a fisheye. Whats the reason behind that?
I don't have a job so I don't have the money for it. Been trying to look for a job forever though so once I get one I'm hoping to upgrade my camera maybe, get a fish eye and tripod and stuff so things look a bit more legit.
And finally, what does it mean to you to finally put out this video after 3-4 months of filming?
It's a huge relief. I mean, last year I released 3 videos already by now and at the time they were each filled with bangers for my riding level then. All I kept thinking about was trying to make this video perfect to me and trying to get a little bit of everything, park, street, tech, creativity/originality and just trying to one up my other videos. And aside from not having a huge trick for my ender like my past 2 full videos I'm super pleased with this and happy it turned out how it did and that everyone's pretty psyched on it so far. Makes me wanna get started on filming my summer video already haha.
Thanks Justin,
And thank you for deciding to do this interview with me! I'd also like to thanks Lloyd from QCS for helping me out with some awesome parts and all my friends that filmed for me and motivated me to try certain things. Also thanks to everyone for the positive comments about the video!
Well there you have it. And in case you missed it, here's Justin's QCS Promo-

Justin Robertson Doggscooters Promo
2009 has really been Justin's year. Basically he went from an unknown to the favorite rider of many. Like his other videos, this one ups the notch on his progression. It also seems like his style is getting better too. Watch and be amazed.

"Then and Now" with Justin Robertson
THEN
Steven: How long had you been riding for, when you made this video?
Justin: Well i started riding right near the end of school that year like late june early july, and i finished that vid late october so about 3 months
Steven: Now at that time, what did scootering really mean to you, what did you see it as?
Justin: Well i didnt really know about sr or the whole scooter scene or anything at that time and i never had a good skateboard or bmx so i just scootered instead, it was pretty much a way to keep in touch with all my friends cause they skated at the time and i was the only one that scootered, i also loved the thrill of it and how it was so unique and different from all my friends
Steven: Nice dude, So at this time, how dedicated were you? How did you push yourself to learn new tricks?
Justin: I scootered every single day for hours each day all through summer and after school started, i'd always just do like tailwhips my super long 1 footed manuals and everyone would be like "OMG your crazy good", i never really thought it was good since thats just basic stuff so it pushed me pretty hard to learn new stuff cause i wanted to see peoples reactions after i learned harder and more difficult tricks,, that was kinda hard though cause i didnt have a skatepark, i rode flat and street sets mostly
Steven: So if you can please watch the video, can you tell me your favorite clip in it? And what time in the video that clip is?
Justin: Without a doubt at 1:14 when i tailwhip the 7 set without any catch,, i remember being sooooo happy after that cause that was pretty big for me at the time, i was scared to just hop that thing and after i whipped it whether i caught it or not i was pretty proud of myself for landing it
Steven: For sure dude. Ok, now if you can change anything about this video, what would it be?
Justin: well theres a pic at the end of it with me just looking like a retard haha if that could disapear it'd be cool, other then that i wouldnt really change anything,, if i had to pic something i guess it'd be that when i hop off those high drops i actually woulda hoped instead of pretty much rolling off them
So there you have it a young, new to scootering Justin Robertson. Now lets fastforward to the Justin Robertson we know today. This is Justin Robertson, Now.
NOW
Steven: Your latest video, has become an instant classic, were you expecting the reaction it's gotten from the community?
Justin: not at all, i was expecting a few good comments and then a bunch of critique of how it could have been better, but honestly i didnt expect that kind of reaction it all, reading all those comments shocked me haha it made me pretty happy though.
Steven: What changed for you from your "Then" video, to this video? Did you see the sport differently?
Justin: not a whole lot really, i still ride to be with friends and stuff, i do see the sport differently though, back then i didnt even think other people rode scooters and when i did find out about sr the only aftermarket parts were like sr forks, micro metal cores and like barley anything,... now i know theres a whole world out there of riders just like me and the amount of aftermarket parts/companies that have started since back then is crazyyy, the sports definitly grown a lot in just those few years and its good to know that its been growing and people are respecting it more
Steven: Yea def. You take a LOT of really gnarly slams, when you were trying those 360 whips down that 11...and kept slamming, what was going through your head?
Justin: everytime i fell i was pretty much yelling inside my head just land the damn trick already so its done with cause i knew i wouldnt stop trying untill it was landed, thats just the way i am.. also i wanted to do that trick since last october down that 11 and i never really got the chance till that day to do it, so i knew if i gave up it would just bug me constantly that i couldnt land it when i finally got a chance to throw it down
Steven: So once again, Favorite clip in that video? and time it takes place?
Justin: without a doubt its at 1:43, the 360 whip down the 11, that was my dream goal for over a year now and now that i finally did it, it makes me feel proud that i never gave up on it or chickened out from doing it
Steven: Last question, what can we expect from Justin Robertson in the future?
Justin: more vids forsure, maybe not as many since i do tend to make one like every month or so haha but hopefully bigger and more original tricks that people havent seen before,, there will forsure be atleast one more vid of me this year which im saving clips for untill it snows so you can look forward to that.
That concludes our first "Then and Now". Be sure to check Inside Scooters Blog for more "Then and Now's" and other new content. Thanks to Justin for taking the time to do the interview.

Justin Robertson Spring Video
The song is so played out in scooter videos, but the riding in this def makes up for it. He kills the street sets and has some original park riding.
