Nitro Circus World Games Announced; Scooter Best Tricks Included

In a press release posted on Nitro Circus' website yesterday, a new action sports competition was announced.  The Nitro World Games will be held in Salt Lake City, UT on July 16, 2016.  Travis Pastrana said, "Action sports is about progression, pushing the envelope to go bigger, faster and farther than ever before," adding that "With the Nitro World Games, we wanted to create an event that raised the bar and took action sports to the next level.”

The event roster lists Scooter Best Tricks alongside categories like FMX Biggest Trick, BMX Triple Jump, and Skate Best Trick.  Anybody is eligible to compete- qualifying events will be held at Woodward West as well as Pastrana's own "Pastranaland" compound.  The event will be televised live in a three hour special on NBC during primetime as well as streamed online.

What does this mean for scootering?  Good, bad, neither? Ryan Williams has been a mainstay in the Nitro Circus Live show for a few years now, with a few other riders performing over the years, providing a ton of exposure to the sport.  Many scooter riders have made it their goal to make it into the X-Games, and this is definitely a big step forward for them.  I think it will be very interesting to see how they depict scootering, from the judging to announcing to how much airtime they get.  We'll see in seven months.

Worlds First Triple Backflip! RYAN WILLIAMS!

I am so stoked to see this finally happen! Ryan is a good friend of mine, and I've seen him attempt this a couple times myself in person. Couldn't be happier for him. Everyone check this out, and show your support by sharing it all over the place. Amazing.

Ryan Williams Worlds First Frontflip to Backboard

Ryan Williams might not have time to hit up many competitions, but when he does, he makes his mark. Surely you all remember his insane gap to back board? Well, this time he decided to throw a frontflip to back board...yeah, just click play.

Megaramp Session with Luke Burland and Ryan Williams

There is a reason that Ryan Williams, and now I believe Luke Burland as well, are a part of the Nitro Circus show, because they kill the mega ramp. Very few riders, despite talking a lot of shit, can actually really go out and hit the mega ramp, and throw down. R Willy has proven time and time again that no one comes close to his skill on the Mega, and I am stoked to see what Luke brings to the Nitro Circus shows which I believe start up soon.

Ryan Williams VX4 Los Angeles Tour

Ryan Williams is out in LA with fellow MGP Aus rider Luke Burland to do some filming, but he also plans on doing some events during his time there. Don't forget to head over to the Madd Website and check out all the features they have going on, and an up close look at the new VX4 line.

Ryan Williams Streets Melbourne

R Willy his the streets again to further test out the new MGP Deck, which looks pretty good so far. It's always sick to see new footage of Ryan, and while I will always prefer his park riding, he can clearly ride street no problem. Check it out

Ryan Williams- 3 Nitro Circus Firsts

Check it out, looks like EA Scoot is a thing now!  Graphics look so lifelike!  In this demo, Rwilly does a ruler frontflip, cash roll whip rewind, and a double frontflip whip.  They must have had the cheats turned on for those tricks!

But forreal, that was nuts.

Ryan Williams My MADD Life

Not only does this video showcase Ryan Williams shredding street, but you can also get some sneak peeks at the new MGP Deck. Which they apparently took the hint, and finally went with flat sides and bottom. So that was good to see. Looks like Ryan made his way to Hong Kong to get a first hand look at how the new decks are being made. Anyways, check out the video below.

Ryan Williams to Miss the World Championships

R Willy, is arguably the sports most popular star, and while most of that is due to his ridiculous amount of skill on his scooter, it's also because of Nitro Circus, and his role with them. Which is the reason he won't be at the World Championships in The UK. For more check the video below.

MaddGear North American Tour with Ryan Williams

That's right, arguably the most popular rider in the sport, and one of the most, if not the most talented rider in the sport, is hitting up the US. They will be hitting spots all over California, The East Coast, and Canada. This is going to be a hell of a tour, and if you want a chance to hang out with R Willy, and see him shred, try and make it out to one of the stops below.

Dialed Scooter Magazine Friday Feature: Spillway of Death with Ryan Williams

Friday Feature is here from Dialed Magazine. This one throws it back to an older issue where photographer Dale Travers met up with Ryan Williams for a photo shoot. He got some sick photos, Ryan took a gnarly slam, and it turned into a pretty tight article.

Ryan Williams Triple Backflip Attempt

Well he said he'd go for it, and he did. What do you guys think? Is he gonna land this anytime soon? Ridiculousness either way.

A Day With Ryan Williams

So, what's a day in the life like for one of the gnarliest Australian shredders?  Pretty good if you ask me.  This video shows a typical day for Ryan when not on a Maddgear or Nitro Circus tour.  Just casually busting out a 270 front lip 270 on a rail, no problem.  And the normal Rwilly tranny moves.  Finishing off with a session at a local ropeswing.  Looks like a good day for sure.

Ryan Williams Lands "The Silly Willy" at Nitro Circus Live

When it comes to a rider that is changing peoples minds about scootering, it isn't a street rider, or someone racking up First Place wins at competitions. It's Ryan Williams. Ryan is a part of Nitro Circus Live, and is riding with some of action sports top riders on a daily basis. Not only is he changing their opinions on scootering, he is changing the opinions of everyone that came out to see the show. And he's doing it by landing tricks like, The Silly Willy. I really do wonder if Ryan has any limits to what he can or can't do on a scooter. Check it out below.

Nitro Circus Live in Birmingham UK by Skates.co.uk

Ben from Skates.co.uk had the awesome job to be at the Nitro Circus event while they toured in The UK. As most people know, Ryan Williams was the only scooter rider on the tour this time around, and as always threw down, and did the sport proud. I really feel like Ryan is the perfect rider to be out there shredding with these guys. His balance of maturity and insanity fits so well, haha. Check it out below, and also check out an interview Ben got with Ryan while in The UK.

It's sick to hear Ryan speak about his interest in MGP making a street style deck, and how he'd prefer them to possibly make some apparel and products to appeal to the older crowd. Good stuff.

Nitro Circus Live: Life in the Circus with Ryan Williams

"Ryan Williams is absolutely amazing."  You can't really get much of a better complement than that, coming from arguably the greatest action sports athlete ever.  This video documents Ryan's experience in the Nitro Circus tour.  It's really cool to see what it's like for him, and what the other guys think of him.  Seeing him kill it on the Mega really makes me psyched to have him in our sport.

ISA Big Trick 2012 Sponsored by Fasen

This edit almost makes it look like the Big Trick portion of the ISA World Championships was more fun to watch than the actual competition runs. Everyone was so amped up, and I love watching Best Trick contests mainly because you get to see everyone really showing their support for one another. Not to mention seeing some world firsts get thrown down. Check it out below.

ISA Best Trick

Here we have some insane tricks being thrown for best trick.  Frontflip whip rewind rewind? Unreal.  But Rwilly's perfect 1080 over the box was what won the gold wheel, as you can see...as well as 1500 pounds ($2411.70 USD).  Ryan also went ahead and did a double flair because he's that good.

R Willy New Zealand 2012

Ryan was recently in New Zealand joining MGP NZ for the last leg of a tour they were on. These were some of the clips that MGP NZ filmer Ben Loader got while he was there. I find myself enjoying Ryan's riding a lot more lately, maybe because seeing serious edits from him are far and few between lately. Definitely worth the watch.

Nitro Circus Live- Next Level Scooter Kids

This is sick.  In case you didn't know Nitro Circus has been posting videos from the most recent tour mostly featuring highlights, but this one focuses directly on the scooter riders on the tour, Ryan Williams and Mitch Baldry.  A few of the other guys talk about how much they were impressed by Ryan and Mitch and there's a bunch of footage of them doing wild tricks.  Watch it.
