KENNY GRIFFIN- LIVING IN STANDARD + INTERVIEW

Kenny Griffin has been a young buck on the come up for a minute now. Getting his start with Lucky, he moved onto a pro spot on Anaquda and has been progressing with no signs of stopping.  His newest video, "Living in Standard," is his best effort yet and has been revered by many riders since it dropped yesterday.  OG Brian Boston said it well when he remarked "Looks like he has so much more potential too."  I hit up KG to get some more details behind the video and what it takes to have a cool miata.

Jordan Jasa:  How long did you spend filming?

Kenny Griffin:  I spent about 7 months filming.

Damn haha shorter than I expected. What made you decide to go SD instead of HD?

I just wanted to change it up Ive never filmed anything in standard and I like the feel/vibe and then once we filmed a few clips in standard we just decided we were going to do the whole thing like that.
Also 7 months is the longest I've really filmed for a part before so to me it felt like a really long time.

Yeah for sure, you can definitely tell you took some time on it. What cameras did you guys use then?
We used a vx1000 s/o kushfart  and then Damion used his HVX but you can put it into standard definition mode and it works pretty much just like a Vx.
Word. Which trick took you the longest? Or what was most satisfying to land?
Honestly the front Board fakie to frontside cab front Board whip on the white rails took sooo long and I was getting kicked out for the last attempts and had been trying it for legit 2 hours then just landed it perfect that felt pretty good to roll away from
Dealing with getting kicked out on top of trying to land the trick is definitely super stressful, must have felt nice. Were most of the spots local to you or did you travel anywhere?
There was a good amount of local spots but we traveled a lot. We went to SF then some places a few hours a way that we had spots planned out to go too. Also I went to San deigo and got some clips.
Miata clips were cool too, tell us about that thing.
Haha well I've always kinda been into cars then recently I bought that miata and I love it and am always sliding it or just clutch kicking. Then after riding a spot at this school Damion told me to bang a few donuts then disappear down the hill, so I did and it ended turning out to be a really cool intro everyone seems pretty stoked on it ha, but my miata will be slammed soon s/o to jared and his miata.

Hard top is necessary if you wanna be cool.
Hahha yeah but droptopboyz.
But seriously, how much did hairdressing school cost?
Hahahhahahhahahhhahaahaahaah
Really though good job on the video, you and Damion killed it.
Thank you I appreciate it, didn't really think people would back it this hard I'm stoked.

Kenny Griffin at Woodward West ft David Ramirez

Kenny was recently a counselor at Woodward West, and him and his homie David put together a solid edit from their time there. Always good to see Kenny riding, but I think we can all agree that we are impatiently waiting for another street edit from him. When's it dropping Kenny?!

JERSEY IS DIRTY ft Kyle Tolentino

Man, one thing you never need to worry about with Kyle? Slow clips. This dude goes mach 10 on everything. Mixes it up with some clips in the park, and clips in the streets, and with his aggressive style, it all ends up looking good. I was digging that fat 180 whip over that flat gap, and this dude jumps over the hood of a car at the end.... so yeah. Anaquda on the come up.

Kenny Griffin Welcome to Anaquda

It shocked just about everyone when Kenny Griffin made the switch from Lucky, to Anaquda. They are still in the process of establishing themselves here in the US, and Kenny is going to help them in that department for sure. This edit is proof of that. Might in fact be my new favorite Kenny Griffin edit, and that's saying something considering he has never dropped a bad edit. Full speed on everything, and.. that banger. Solid job on the filming and editing by Damion Black as always.

Kaaden Bewley Anaquda 2014

Anaquda just dropped some new footage of Kaaden, who is finally able to ride after a long, harsh Michigan winter.  This video has him riding his usual parks.  Line at 1:45 was my favorite.

Josh Brown 2014

Josh the Heavy Hitter Brown. It's been a while since we've seen any footage from Josh, but this edit makes up for that. Clearly Josh hasn't slowed down at all since joining up with Anaquda. Anaquda is still trying to establish itself here in the US, but their Team is really talented, and hopefully that helps them out. Josh sticks to his roots here, gnarly tricks down sets, and rail combos. Check it out.

Anaquda 2 for 1: Josh Brown Anaquda Promo Two and Kyle Tolentino 5 Clips

Josh Brown and Kyle have both been keeping busy getting clips for Anaquda. Josh recently finished his second Promo for the company, and Kyle stacked 5 solid clips at TIC. Josh of course was dropping heavy ass clips in the streets, and has some good rail clips going on. And I think Kyle definitely shut it down with that last combo. Check em out

Josh Brown Anaquda Promo Part

Josh Brown has been known as a heavy hitter in the streets for a while now, and he recently dropped his Anaquda promo part. The company still hasn't made much noise here in the US, and I don't know where you can get the parts yet, but it looks like they're holding up for Josh well. Tons of rails throughout the video, and there's a really sick feeble hard truck in there too. Check it

Anaquda Updates

Anaquda is still trying to get established here in the US, and their Team is definitely helping with that. The Team right now consists of, Joey Aria, Kyle Tolentino, Josh Brown, and recently added, Tabitha Windle. All of these guys (and girl) can kill it. Kyle was recently flown to Germany where he took 1st place at a competition in Coburg, and in doing so got the last ticket to the ISA Finals. We will have footage of his runs when they're done being edited in a few days.

Below we have videos from Kyle and Tabitha from their time in Ohio, and a US Team Edit featuring the three guys. Check em out. Have to say, Kyle is one of the steeziest riders in the game right now, hands down.

Kyle Tolentino Welcome to Anaquda

Not sure what the deal is with this company, or if they have legit products or not, but they definitely have some legit riders. First Joey Aria, and now Kyle Tolentino. I wasn't always a fan of Kyles riding, but this past year he stepped it up. Dude rides with tons of speed, and throws some huge 180s. Also one of the few riders who I can watch him ride street or park, and enjoy both. Check out his latest below.

Josh Brown- Welcome to Anaquda

Anaquda recently started a US team, and first to release a "Welcome To" edit is Josh Brown.  Josh is known for getting tech on ledges and rails while also hitting some of the gnarliest terrain out there.  In this park edit he shows his tech side, with tricks like hurricane full cabs, half cab boardslide to whip a downrail, and feeble 360 smith combos.  He's currently saving footage for an all-street part, be on the lookout for that.
