ShopECX.com "Butter" DVD Teaser

The ShopECX.com Team has been working on a DVD called "Butter" for a while now. They suffered some minor set backs, with Team changes, and equipment issues, but they are now on track, and the DVD should be finished soon. Below is a teaser made by Ryan Upchurch. Keep in mind, all the stuff in the teaser is throw away footage. I've heard some great things about the actual footage, and I can't wait for the DVD.

  5. looks very unprofessional. Filming made me sick, and i dont understand the point of a fisheye if the vig is two crooked lines on the side of the screen.

  9. I never knew that you guys were so worried about the filming more less the riding. High fives to you guys.

  10. filming is what sets the memorable videos apart from the good ones

  11. To the anonymous above..

Spoken like someone who truly doesn't enjoy Scootering for what it is.

Some of the most legendary videos were made before people took filming so seriously. Videos that you probably wouldn't even know how to appreciate, because the filming wasn't up to your standard. Sad.

  12. I agree with the point that filming isn't all about a video. Although, don't you think if a company is actually trying to SELL a DVD they would make it look more professional and not just hand the camera around to film each other? I have not yet been impressed with any scooter DVD besides Transit scooter tour 1, and Proto DVD. Jordan Jasa even said it himself that good filming and editing can make a video go a long way. Im sorry but this video is just clips thrown together with an over used song. Not appealing.

Also, wheres Greg? wtf? This shows that shopecx is even more un-professional because they couldn't even wait for their best rider to get clips for this promo! C'mon shopecx just because a few companys have came out with DVDs dosent mean that you guys have too. Take your time, get your riders together hire a Filmer and editor and actually pour your heart out into this DVD and people will actually buy it. No one is going to buy this DVD besides their moms im sorry.

  13. I love how you guys post as anonymous and run your mouths. Put up or shut up. If you open your eyes you will see a few clips of Greg. And again, please keep in mind:
    1. This is all throwaway footage
    2. Not everyone can spend $50,000 on a professional film crew.
    3. Our guys work very hard at riding, filming and editing. Some of the older footage may not look great, the technique may not be perfect but the riding is still good, so why not use it.
    4. We now have 5 $1,500 HD Cameras and some great editing software for the final product.
    5. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
    6. I love how everyone is a film critic all of the sudden... where are your major motion pictures?
    7. If you are man enough to run your mouth at least be man enough to post your name.
    8. Haters only push us harder...thanks!

  14. well said mike hahahah <3 and in addition, alot of this footage is fairly old, when we didn't have the great equipment, knowledge, and skills we possess today. but the riding was good, and we like to show that we have came a long way, and want to include all of the good times we had riding and making this. if a few little things like the crooked vig in some clips, or the image stabilizer messed it up for you, then fine. It just goes to show you an't enjoy scootering for what it really is. If you aren't into that, then fine, don't buy it.

  16. our video is very good and if you don't like the filming thats fine videos are not just about filming it is about appreciating the riding and if you don't get the fact that we don't have a 15,000 film set then just don't buy it that just shows that you don't appreciate riding.

  17. You don't have to spend big bucks to make a good video. The Proto dvd was all standard definition, mainly VX and 7d footage (I can't remember what camera Jon has, it's under $1k though). Andrew did all the editing himself. So it's really just about time, effort, and experience.

  18. alex hit the nail on the head. you don't need super fancy thousand dollar HD setups, you can get VX's pretty cheap and learning to film properly really isn't difficult. you just have to make an effort to learn what looks good and what doesn't.

  19. If haters only push ECX harder then i guess ill say it, FUCK ECX. That video was SHIT. Dont make a DVD with shitty cameras

  20. sad that you guys can't appreciate good riding.. hopefully we'll have the final product up to a standard that you guys would spend a few bucks and support a team thats trying to get our sport out there, has some really good talent and getting bigger, riding doing what they enjoy, and fun to watch (which is a toss up right now i guess =P).. but the goal IS to enjoy watching it right? and to get you hyped up to go out and ride yourself? we're obviously not trying to make lots of money selling this video but please keep the complaining to yourselves and stop trying to sound like you know everything about filming/editing. its different from constructive critisim. Like mike and ryan said a good chunk of the footage was old and filmed reformatted down to the point where its not dvd quality. we're just trying to get something out. but steven said it right about past videos that were epic. lets keep the comments positive or if you can't find anything at least give us some constructive for what Thanks, long live riding steezy.

  21. Wow i thought it was so sickk! i didnt even see the camera shake once cause i was so memorized by all the riding! and if that was a teaser.... that was 3 min and 50 secs of amazing riding! If you dont like this vid... please... Grow a pair and post a vid of YOU, so everyone can point out all your mistakes! but you wont, which makes you look that much worse!

  22. To the anonymous above andy b: just so you know all of our cameras are over 1,100 dollars and watch your language dude you can just say you don't like it you don't have to say bad words it just shows that you don't appreciate riding. and your a hater your self
