Inward Scooters introduces Phoenix one piece deck!

Phoenix Pro Scooters of Portland OR has developed a top of the line one piece deck that will rival any existing deck on the market in terms of appearance, weight and strength.

The Phoenix deck is 4.5 inches wide and is extruded from 6061 T6 aluminum and heat-treated. Phoenix brings over 20 years of Bicycle Industry experience to the design and engineering of their new deck. The deck was designed using state-of-the-art computer engineering software and has been stress tested and can stand up to 3000 pounds of force.

This deck weighs just 3 pounds, and has a head tube angle of 82.5 degrees, just slightly steeper than the Razor Pro Model making the deck easy to get used to.

A unique bracket to mount the brake eliminates the need to drill a weakening cross-hole through the deck.

The deck comes with a 90 day manufacturers warranty and will be sold exclusively by Inward Scooters. The Phoenix deck can be seen at the upcoming Cooter Con competition in Seattle. The deck will be available for sale in the second half of November 2009.

  1. Can't say its the most original design out there. But the weight sounds nice..guess we'll need to wait and see how it performs...I will say releasing a deck..without proper testing from riders in the sport...doesn't seem too smart at all....

  2. I can say its original. I mean the only thing not original is a square headtube and that is goiing to be standared in a few years (or less). I love the part were its rounded on the bottom. Honestly cant see it cracking there. The headtube it a problem on all new one piece deck. We'll see how that goes. I do think the inward team should get one to make sure it doesnt have some wierd ass fault that a computer cant find, but those numbers are pretty promising and since i only weigh 100 pounds and even jumping off a 20 set wont put 3000 pounds of pressure on it for me, i can saftly say im going to buy one. What i AM worried about is if it can take pegs. Thats a huge thing for me. i like that there was actually thought put into it instead of just being thick tubes welded together.

  3. Two inward Riders will be riding these decks for a month before they will be released to the market. We have no doubts about the strength of the deck, and are seeking rider feedback on how it performs in terms of geometry, weight, and the ease of installation of components.

Im guessing you have never seen an ultra pro model? Steve was obviously pointing out how the headtube goes through the deck and is welded at at the top and bottom of the deck, like an ultra pro. Also, can you please explain how a computer is going to fault? It was designed on a computer, you know like CAD. They are most likely hand made, any fault would be due to human error.

Reguardless, it looks pretty sold and strong.

  5. Modern CAD modeling software (Like Solid Works)has the ability to take the assembly, you input what material you are using (it knows the properties), you tell it the size of your weld bead (again, it knows the properties), and then you get to apply force (you decide how much) from however many angles you want and to whatever points you want.

Then you get to have the program run the stress analysis, which trust me, is both fun and educational because you get to see if you designed it right. Solid Works will show you with colors (Red is weakest - Dark Blue is strongest)exactly where your weakest points are.

Of course there is always the real world which is why Inwards Pros will be trying like hell to break it and giving me feedback over the next 30 days.

All 3 of the parts that make up the Phoenix deck are CNC machined to extremely tight tolerances and then, yes, they are hand welded.

I think the coincidence that the Phoenix is welded in the same places that the RUP is actually speaks to the fact that both our companies are probably using this type of design technology and working with mechanical engineers.

  21. Thanks to broadband technology, VoIP phone calls
are becoming more and more commonplace. This technology utilises your existing high speed Internet connection to send and receive telephone calls at a
much less expensive rate that traditional telephones. Cheap international calls or even
free international calls are now a reality, thanks to VoIP.
Free international calls do offer some restrictions but, if you're prepared to sign up with a VoIP service provider for cheap international calls, you gain flexibility alongside some low cost options.
