US team manager for VertX Dom Marconi recently informed me of an ongoing competition to find riders to put on the team. Like the Lucky Flow team competition, but VertX is actually looking for riders to sponsor on the Professional level. VertX hopes to find 5-6 riders to put on the team. What exactly are they looking for? What do you need to do to be considered for the team? Read on:
Requirements are-
- No longer than 3 minutes
- Uploaded to Youtube
- Title must be *Insert name* VertX Sponsorship Video
- Link to video emailed to vertxcomp@live.com
- Must be sent in by February 7th
- Name
- Age
- City and state
- How long you have been riding
- Why you want to be added to the team
- Why you should be chosen for the team
Dom also had this to say:
- I better not get any emails with major grammatical errors EI dont tok lyke dis
- Make sure you take your time with your resume as well as your video. BE BROFESSIONAL
- The videos will not only be judged on riding, but on editing and filming. We would prefer the team to not be promoted by kids filming on their cell phones.
- I don't want to see an all-street or an all-park video (unless you are really good at one). I like to see a mix of riding. (Once again, unless you are very skilled in one or the other area).
- Have fun and show me what you got! This is a great opportunity and the stakes are high!
Seems like a good opportunity if you've been looking to get sponsored, good luck guys!
Im so going for this.
ReplyDeleteWow, first they steal Lucky's product designs and now they are stealing their Sponsorship ideas too?!
ReplyDeleteI'd much rather support Lucky...
are you fucking kidding me? haha This company is ran buy two fat old men working out of a janky ass warehouse in redmond, washington. This is not a real scooter company, these guys have no ties with the scooter community and dont support the movement whatsoever. I cannot believe anyone would submit a sponsorship application into a company like this. Show some dignity as future professional riders and hold out for a respectable scooter company please.

your a fag
DeleteIt's a video competition bro, chill...
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Blake and Josh.
ReplyDeleteIs this for american riders only?
ReplyDeleteGive them a chance
ReplyDeleteblake you should nt put down company's like that, its not right bro, maybe they want to get involved, and their first step is putting together a team so yeah just chill
ReplyDeleteBlake Bailor is a boss
ReplyDeleteFuck off VertX
VertX sucks. Copies Lucky designs and everything, why the fuck did they not get sued in the first place? I totally agree with Blake on this one. I am totally against this bullshit of a company. Honestly, I would rather get sponsored by my shit. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteJust like Proride, A Joke....
ReplyDeleteVertX designed Lucky's parts for Lucky. FOR FREE. They are VertX's designs. And besides, there is only one part of VertX's parts that are similar to Lucky's, and that's the SMX...
ReplyDeleteNone of you kids know shit about VertX, and are just hopping on the hate bandwagon because you can.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think everyone who is bitching about them are just fucking childish...and Josh Toy, your washed up. If you look at BMX andSkateboarding, they all have the same designs. BMX has all the same type of frames, and skateboarding has all the same style decks. Who gives a shit if their decks look SIMIALR to Lucky's? Let them do whatever they want. At least they support the sport, and at the end of the day, thats all that matters.

ReplyDeleteyeah what Dom and Tyler said, stop being haters end of story
Silly politics. I like this. If i wasnt here, i'd be there. To me, the history of a design isnt as important as its function. use FUNCTION FOR FLAIR.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, stop comparing our sport to BMX and skating! Individuality Tyler, we aren't the same sport, we are different. And Dom, you fucking named your shit the same as Lucky's. Get out of here bro, nobody likes your opinion or your company. Ride LSP.
ReplyDeleteShow some respect to josh toy he is an origenal rider ok he still shreds so show respect dam!
ReplyDeleteEveryone that is complaining is a pure reason as to why people think scooter is childish. What does the owners weight have to do with anything? Lucky's prices have been way to high for too long. You can get a colored SMX from VertX for $66.00 with an integrated star nut or go to Lucky and it will cost you $87.99. And Blake, how can you possibly say VertX doesn't support the movement at all? They must care if they are willing to sponsor riders. Honestly though guys, this argument has gone on way to long. It's time you all grow up and ride your scooters.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, they are our designs, not Lucky's. I'm still in here bro, and it seems to be about as many people like my opinion as yours. I'm not here to make enemies, and I have no problem with you, so just chill out. You can go buy all the Lucky parts you want and nobody will stop you. The same goes for VertX fans. VertX isn't ripping off Lucky, we sell completely different parts. I've known Brian back at Lucky since the beginning and the hate between the two companies needs to stop.
ReplyDeletepeople dont know shit. This is scootering not bmx or skating. Lucky gave the people from vertx the money to produce our parts. They sucked at it so we fired their asses and moved somewhere else. They took OUR designs and started a company. Thats why we are in the process of sueing them. Get yo shit straight.
ReplyDeleteI hope i get put on this team just so i can blow loads all over the face of all the haters! - jaydee blevins
ReplyDeleteOh yeah btw ols4life- jaydee blevins :)
ReplyDeleteI love vertx. Cheap, quality parts. Hmmm whats so wrong with that.
ReplyDeleteVertX designed the original Lucky deck...
ReplyDeleteHey guys , im from the UK can i still enter this comp. Thanks :D
ReplyDeleteSUE THEM HARD BROS! DOM DON'T STAND A CHANCE
ReplyDelete...Yes, I do.
ReplyDeleteYou have no clue about the details of this.
Childish or not, I'd rather run Lucky parts. Now let's all just get off our computers and ride.
ReplyDeleteYamada is real gay you guys arent sueing anyone.
ReplyDelete-Steven
^^ like this guy, he prolly has no clue what happened but yet, anom. Mind you, he wants to hate. If your not interested in the sponsorship quit hating.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the sponsorship competition due date?
ReplyDeleteLucky asked vertx to make the parts for them cuz they dont know how, vertx said yes, now lucky tried sueing them for using their designs, but really lucky isnt the one making all the '' lucky'' parts, its been vertx so give vertx a chance cuz they still make theyre own different parts that dont look like lucky, so everybody that hatin just on vertx just chill cuz vertx is pretty legit
ReplyDeleteWord to evan and blake
ReplyDeleteOnce again, VertX designed Lucky's original parts...
ReplyDeleteim sorry for anyone who goes for this and gets on! get ready to be ignored and to not get any parts! you dont even get to talk to the people who run it, i was on the UK team and left because they are so bad to there riders there just in it for the money that is all, and there parts are rubbish except the forks.
ReplyDeleteEverything in that post was just so wrong.
ReplyDeleteI eat rice
ReplyDelete- Evan Yamada
hahahahah^^
ReplyDeletevertx buys the decks off lucky for extra money and label it as there deck!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know the exact company particulars. Neither do most of you. Bottom line is this: Stop the hate. This sport is looked down upon by skaters & BMX'ers alike. They "think" its a childish activity, not even a sport! We all know otherwise. Stop the division amongst you! Of course their are going to be spats, but this is really immature. I own a New clothing label targeting all 3 SPORTS! I support the growth and movement of the freestyle scooters. Eventually you will get the well deserved respect if you put these kinds of silly arguments behind you and UNITE!!!! JayDee u know who I am.
ReplyDeleteMischieface
They are just trying, no need to hate....
ReplyDeletehow many of you are trying to run a company ?
