The Forefront

The Forefront from Proto Scooters on Vimeo.

You definitely should watch this.  In a video filmed and edited by Tom Hoying, Dylan Kasson takes us through his experiences and views on scooter riding.  Dylan is one of the most interesting characters in our sport, not only for his riding but the way he thinks, his opinions on everything.  Josh Young said he "might be the most legit and hardest working street rider there is" on the LIT blog and that is not inaccurate at all.  To Tom, if you're reading this, I'm really bummed you bailed on coming to Chicago with Dylan last weekend.  Nice documentary anyway.

  8. I think the best part of this video, is the fact that Dylan is speaking 100% truth, and literally from his heart. Really liked the video.

Those who have a true passion for riding scooters, and think of it not as job, or hobby, or means to show off...and look at it as a lifestyle as Dylan mentions. Will truly appreciate everything he says and shows in this video.

  13. After many years of being in this sport, as a dylan kasson fan. I dont like this video.
It lacks depth, its just soo easy.
Great, that there are some mini documentaries, but this one looks like a mini video. May have some good tricks, but lacks work.

  15. If you think proto parts are weak, you're stupid.

  18. I'm literally getting off my ass and going to the skatepark right now. I love DK's riding, even though he thinks I'm a weird fuck, and he just gets better and better.

  20. Proto sucks and everyone thinks so

  21. whoever says proto sucks is just down right stupid, have some respect for the team that drove scootering to bigger and better things

  22. Speak for yourself anon, I disagree.

  23. Dylan was absolutely the perfect person to do this documentary. You can see it in his eyes and hear it in his words how dedicated he's been to this sport. 3 freaking years he spent on his catalyst part, most kids these days can't even comprehend that.

  26. not sure how anyone can say anything bad about proto parts.. in the 4-5 years I've been riding for SR/PROTO I've dehubbed one wheel, and that's it. never bent bars, never bent a fork, in fact I usually just get sick of having the same color for so long since the damn parts won't break. Not to mention I finally got on an orion 4.5.. best feeling deck ever.

Anyway.. back to the video, all jokes about dylan being legit aside, he's gotta be MVP of proto. He doesn't just push himself he pushes everyone on the team, and is an amazing rider.

  27. Proto makes the best wheels hands down..I've been running sliders since last Christmas and I ride everyday hard as hell and still no chunks or cracks :) # amazing

  28. For any one who has been in the sport for more than five years this is so similar to what we've. experienced. back in the day scootering wasnt about who had the best parts it was about having fun somthing that is lost in alot of riders today who scooter beacuase there mom bought them a nine hundred dollar scooter and there friends dad owns a company so they got put on the team. scootering was my first love and always will be.

  29. Dylan is cool and I'm a huge fan of his riding. As for the haters, never pay attention to them, unless they are expressing some constructive criticism, not that "lolxd proto sucks" crap.

  30. Legit vid...I've been on the team since it started....beparts are the best and the team is like a huge family...even if we didn't ride we could all sit in one room and have a chill ass time....its prob all the new upcoming riders who are putting us down...next dvd is gunna killa....putting down a top name only slows the sport down.....learn to love what you do and appreciate others who share the same common interest......

  31. Without Dylan Catalyst would not exist. That's all you really have to say.

  32. bahah the main kids talking good on proto ARE proto riders. that says something there ay?

products are shit. riders are good.

  33. Proto is the best company out. Rider founded, owned, and maintained, for the riders. They have the most legit parts out. The reason you see people dehubbing wheels and breaking forks or whatever is because Proto has probably sold a majority of their parts and the broken ones represent a small portion of the actual amount of Proto parts being ridden. I've been running my Black on Silver Sliders for over a year and a half now and they still perform just as well as the day I first put them on.

Now, about Dylan, he is my favorite rider in the sport and after hearing about how hard he works from other people in the sport, THEN hearing him talk about how he rides, it just blows me away. He is a testament to the fact that hard work makes for success. I can't wait to see where he goes with this sport in the future, Proto rules.

  34. Proto sucks face it! The last two batches of wheels from Proto not only de hubbed but the tires were completely coming off the rims, like a do nut. Yaks don't even do that. Just keeping it real

    ReplyDelete
  35. tires coming off the rims??? ^^ wow go learn something before you start bashing a company

    ReplyDelete
  36. pure dedication, staight from the heart, best video out there hands down. and all you kids bagging on proto dont realise how much they've done for the sport. you wanted a rider owned and rider operated company like addict is supposed to be? its right here guys.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The people who hate proto parts are the kids who do bri flips out of fly all day everyday. You are the readon our sport is going backwards. Proto started all of what scootering is now days. They are a rider company and the first to produce a GOOD dvd. They have the strongest parts hands down and the whole team actually knows how to ride street and not the same park for their entire video part.
