What Do Some of Skateboarding's Best Think of Scooters?

Well...here is the sad truth...This is coming from top skateboarders such as, Rune Glifberg, Bucky Lasek, Tony Trujillo, and more. While it does suck to hear this kind of reaction, I think for the most part these guys are referring to the little kids depicted in the video. Which let's be honest here, even WE don't like them much.. Anyways, let me know your thoughts by commenting on the video.

Also like to point out how awesome it is of Steve Caballero to have that kind of outlook on the whole thing. Which is what anyone who truly loves the sport they do, would say. Anyways, check out the video.

  1. I doubt any of those guys have actually seen a real scooter rider. Show em McKeen and I'd be suprised if they weren't stoked.

  2. notice how all the younger immature guys hate it and call it "gay" while the only older mature guy is the one who isn't a complete dick about it and accepts it.

  3. Having ridden with a LOT of the top pros in both skating and bmx, I can safely say that this video is definitely geared at the little snakes. I've ridden with bucky a few times and he's been nothing but pumped on scooters. Huge names like Bob Burnquist, Tony Hawk, and Sal Masakela are totally pumped on the originality of it, and see it as just another extreme sport.

  4. It's just a trend that comes and goes...just like rollerblading did... hahahaha so many implications...

  5. Different opinions is cool and all. But why must so many scooter riders seek their aprooval?

  6. why even post this? who gives a fuck, just go ride and stop caring what other people think. you wouldn't be riding a scooter if you cared.

  7. I've been riding with skaters since i started on my scooter 3 years ago. I started as a young kid and the skaters did not really say anything. Now i've got many friends in the skatepark who skates and mostly of them think scootering is pretty nice.
A last word could be that i always have been a street rider. The skaters thinks it's nice to see scooter edits just like skateboard edits and not edits like BMX on a fucking fly out.

  8. it doesnt matter really what anyone has to say about the sport we scoot cause we love to scoot the same reason why they skateboard so with or with out there exception we keep on going

  9. scooters are just the same as any skater or bmxer, i dont know how they call it "gay". you cant just say u hate all scooters just because of the little ones always getting in the way, and plus its not just little kids on scooters that get in the way.. if you give a kid anything with wheels they will be a piss off at the park, skateboarders think they fuckin own the place and the skatepark is just as much ours as it is theirs

  10. ^^exactly!! their opinion doesnt matter any more than anybody else's.
and whoever said the thing about it being a trend like rollerblading is dead wrong.

  12. HaHa! Chris and I were just at Bucky's Bowl in his backyard. He loves us, just cant look like a B**** in front of other boarders and I respect that. Street cred and rep goes a long way in this world. We just gotta do everything they do and then some... they'll respect it in time.

  13. It's probably the kids at that skatepark that r gay at riding show them the pros Matt Mc keen,Adam bolton, brendon smith, max peters, terry price, codie donovan they'll regret wat they said

  14. Hahaha We could just ride street and be real men.

  15. Can i ask why post this? I'm not seeking approval of other sports when im riding, This is pointless; Some skaters hate, some skaters don't, It's life.

One of these is not like the others. That one is probably the only rider that would get decent respect from skaters.

And blading wasn't a trend. I'll kick anyone who says that it is. It's still strong.

  17. Yes^ and who gives one? These guys choose to go ride at parks with snakes, and bucky has his own bowl in his backyard. forget it.

  18. haha matt is soo right. all the skateboarders being interviewed here are always at the skatepark because they can't go out and ride street. this is why they think what they do about scooters, cuz theyre always at the park!

  19. this is really funny to me, because if you asked any other pros from different sports about how they feel about little kids on skateboards, bikes, rollerblades, etc, they would all express how annoyed they are with them. little kids at skateparks in general are usually hated on by most people because theyre oblivious to anyone around them. but the reality is, how is a sport gonna survive if youre driving away anyone that is trying to pick the sport up. people need to grow the @#!*% up and realize that we need younger riders and we should see it as an opportunity to teach them and help them get better. tnt, rune glifberg and bucky lasek all just made themselves look like ignorant morons in my opinion

  20. Bob gave me props on my riding at the nitro circus show, I think it has a lot to do with your attitude too, some of the bikers at nitro seemed pretty chill with scooters but they said it didnt help when they met ryan williams and he was apparently cocky as shit.. that kinda attitude doesn't get anyone anywhere especially when we're already on thin ice. I personally will pick up a skater's board and hand it back to him if they fall, and people rarely ever talk any shit

  21. Steve Caballero is a real Christian, that's why he doesn't hate.

  22. What they don't understand is that we are just like skateboarders were 30 odd years ago.

  23. A couple of pro skating dickheads dont like us. I can sleep at night just fine knowing that,

    save a tree.

  24. Who cares?

  25. Ummm is that suppose to hurt my feelings?

  26. dude, there's no point in trying to seek approval from anyone, skaters hate bmx, bmx hate skaters! trying to get other people's approval just makes us look bad, just ride and have fun!

  27. do what you love doing, if you ride a scooter to seek approval from other sports just dont ride one.

  28. this is good guys! i want people to say what they feel in real life, much better than people just saying crap over the internett all the time! but look at the video guys, only kids there!

  29. I love Cab, he seems like a nice guy who just wants people to enjoy whatever they're doing at the skatepark. Bucky seems okay about it, he's ridden with the Elyts guys and I think he encourages people to get on a board because he's just trying to rep his sport, after all that's what he does for a living.
The others are pretty ignorant to be honest, they just see skateboarding as the best thing and don't care what anyone else wants to do, pretty one sided.
But this is made and edited by skaters who probably don't like scooter kids much, so it's bound to be biased.

  35. The kids kick scooter is a great choice for getting kids into sports and exercising. Scooters for kids are becoming an outdoor craze nowadays.

  36. Someone through a skateboard at me once. I picked it up, snapped it in two, pulled out my wallet and gave him 70 bucks. Don't fuck with me.

  37. It's really funny how they treat scooters like that. I was more amazed with teens that are using Sick-Scooters for tricks rather than using skateboards that are already mainstream.
