ReplyDeletewow i really dont know why you would make a hot to for something that simple but anyways... the crown race is what you press onto the bottom of your steerertube where it meets the fork and some of them actually do have slits for easier installation such as the ones that come i odyssey headsets as well as some other brands. the thing with the slit that goes between your upper bearing and the dust cap is called a compression ring as it is what compresses your headset together and fills the gap between the steerertube and bearing removing the play from the headset. also phoenix should take a closer look at what there machining tolerances are set to because the uper bearing wouldnt fit into the headtube on my integrated phoenix deck by hand so i had to press it in by doing up the headset extremely tight and by doing that i crushed the bearing and now it is stuck in there. get your act together guys...
