The Real Joe Armstrong

Crisp rider Joe Armstrong is currently ranked 3rd in the world. I watched him perform at the last World Championships, and he shut it down hard. He does the same thing in his latest edit. As always mixing it up with huge bangers, tech clips, and some street as well. 360 to nose manual to 360 looked really good.

Joe Armstrong- Welcome to Envy

If you didn't know, Joe recently called it quits with Maddgear and got a spot on Envy.  Joe is one of the heaviest hitters on the park scene, and fits in quite well the other US Envy guys.  Huge box and quarterpipe tricks, but can still mix it up with some tech rail stuff.  Probably the most notable change in his riding since getting on Envy would be the lack of footjams and peg stall combos.  I'm a little bummed on that but it was good to see him get a couple toothhangers in.

Joe Armstrong Farewell MaddGear Edit

Well first Tyler Bonner, and now Joe Armstrong? You have to wonder about Collin, Gus, and Peter.. but we'll see what happens. Joe's reasons for leaving were personal, so not really sure why or what caused it. What I'm interested in is to see where Joe ends up. He was one of the most talented guys on MaddGear, but I felt like at times he was overshadowed by Tyler Bonner. This edit is packed full of bangers, I think I even saw a 720 whip to downside whip in there. Check it.

MGP Deep West Tour Edit Part 1 and 2

MGP USA recently finished up their Deep West Tour, and it looked to be a huge success. The talent level of the MGP Team is so high, that it is really hard to not get psyched watching these guys throw down. Tons of footage in these two edits so watch em both.

Joe Armstrong Web Edit 2012

Joe is a nut.  From his footjam combos to air tricks to nose manuals, he shows that he has a ton of skill. Nose manual 360 footjam to whip thing was so crazy.   Ice to nose manual on the quarter was cool too.

MaddGearUSA Welcomes Eastern Skate Supply

So MGP definitely gets around when it comes to traveling all over the country, and the world for that matter. Sometimes you just gotta be in the right place, and have the right people watching you ride to land a big deal. Well the owner of Eastern Skate Supply, and former pro skateboarder Reggie Barnes was blown away by the riding of Collin DaSilva, Joe Armstrong, and Anthony "Twan" Bustos. In fact the video of them riding the ESS park is the first time scooters have ever even been invited to ride the ESS warehouse.

After what Reggie had seen, he was more than happy to become an official US Distributor of MaddGear Products. For more information check the press release from MGP below.

"Madd Gear is excited to announce that Eastern Skateboard Supply (ESS) is now an official USA distributor of Madd Gear professional freestyle scooters.

“Our partnership is groundbreaking for the sport of Freestyle Scootering! Eastern Skateboard Supply is one of the largest Skateboard Distributors in the United States and a recognized authority in the world of Action Sports. ESS’s backing of the Madd Gear brand and the sport will help broaden our distribution into new dealers and expand exposure of freestyle scootering within the skateboard community.” states Madd Gear USA VP of Sales and Marketing, Todd Suskin.
Reggie Barnes, owner of Eastern Skateboard Supply and former pro skater had this to say; “After seeing a few of the Madd Gear professionals riding my park I was blown away.. These guys are for real. The tricks they do are amazing. I am proud to offer Madd Gear Scooters to my customers!”

Madd Gear USA Team Manager Anthony “Twan” Bustos, Collin DaSilva, and Joe Armstrong were honored with an invitation from Eastern Skateboard Supply to travel to their North Carolina offices and be the first pro freestyle scooter riders to ride their private indoor skatepark!" - MGP

Black Diamond FSP Contest Edit from MaddGear

Recently FSP held a contest over on the east coast, and MGP had some riders there. Twan was there to film the contest, and MGP Pro Rider, Joe Armstrong..was there to win it. He took first place in the Pro division going up against some serious competition. A lot of great clips in this edit from Twan. Check it out below and congrats to Joe!

Also last weekend MGP and Pro riders Joe Armstrong and Colin DaSilva went down to Tuckerton, NJ for a demo and signing at local skate shop Cheaters 5. While they didn't have much to work with, it still looks like it was a good time.

Joe Armstrong Summer Video

Joe has tricks for days.  720 combos, mind boggling nose manuals, any trick to invert/turndown.  720 over Woodward box...so good.  Just wish he would take the fisheye off more.

Joe Armstrong MGP Edit

Wow...I like this a lot better than some of Joe's more recent videos.  Loving all the nose manual combos, nose manny 3 over a pyramid?  Get out of here dude.  This guy has so much skill, glad to see him putting it to good use (other than doing more more more multi-trick air and footjam combos).

Joe Armstrong/Tommy Cottrell Throwaway

Madd's Joe Armstrong and his friend Tommy Cottrell are featured in this video, in which they ride a bunch of different parks on the east coast.  We all knew that Joe could shred, but I don't think I've seen footage of Tommy before.  He shreds for sure too.  Great stuff from these guys.

2 New Madd Videos-

The first video we have here is from Joe Armstrong, his first edit while being on Madd USA.  As is the standard with Madd riders, Joe is an extremely skilled park rider.  Combos out the wazoo, foojams, nose manuals...I definitely dig the can can nose manual, wondered who inspired him to do that? ;)

Next we have Madd UK rider Luke Painter's video.  I knew Luke was good but wow, this one really impressed me.  Mixes it up with park and street, some really creative/tech lines, and really solid and clean riding overall as well.  Fakie ice to whip was so nuts.  I'm definitely a big fan of this guy now.  Watch for double barspins at the end there too.

East Coast Exposure

Matt Somers from New Jersey has been filming for this for a few weeks now. He finally was able to finish it after the Madd Thanksgiving event at TIC. It features a ton of Jersey and Delaware kids, including: Joe Armstrong (recently put on Madd USA), Josh Kish, Ryan Upchurch, Hunter Bechtle, Jon Devrind, and many more.

Joe Armstrong Edit

Joe Armstrong Edit from Teddy Mack on Vimeo.

This is something a lot of people have been waiting for for a long time. Joe definitely has a lot of talent on his scooter. Doing tricks like that over the driveway box at TIC is nuts. He also gets super tech with nose manuals, he thinks hes Tyler Bonner or something. Gnarly video.
