Proto Box Edit 2012
This is a little disappointing simply because only riders Chema Cardenas and Brandon Kilbury are in it. Regardless, the riding is super good. Such different styles from these guys, its a wild contrast. Also, check out BK's new sig deck at the beginning.

Dylan Kasson "The Almanac" Interview
It started about a year ago, and all it took was a Flip camera. That was when Dylan started producing the Almanac videos. Since then he has built quite the following of people that enjoy watching the videos, and it's only continuing to grow. To be able to get an inside look at some of the stuff these guys get into is almost impossible to not enjoy. I recently caught up with Dylan Kasson to discuss The Almanac.
So when did you decide to start doing videos like this? Was there any
specific reason?
Dylan: I saw a lot of people in the skateboard world doing it. Mainly a photographer named Joe Brook. He would make edits with a point and shoot camera every time he would go on filming trips with skate teams. They were called fatbacks. These videos were so interesting because I feel like most people are sort of "actors" when they have video parts, even with the lifestyle footage it is highly glamorized so it is nice to see the absolute truth.
Yeah dude, I really get that last part. Now for those who don't know what are all these videos filmed with?
Dylan: They are filmed with a standard definition and high definition flip
camera and a iphone 4.
I feel like these videos show a different side to the sport. A lot of the
riders featured in the videos are known for being some of the sports top
riders, yourself included. Though in the videos, you get to see everyone
pretty much just chilling, and get a better feel for who they are. Would you
say that's true?
Dylan: Yes of course. Even though we take filming real clips very seriously,
there has to be enjoyable moments in between. But when the real
cameras come out its a completely different attitude.
The first ever Flip video Dylan made.
We see a lot of Tyler Wheeland, Yourself, and Alex Steadman in the
videos. You guys are all obviously pretty close friends, how fun is it to
get together with these guys and film some of these clips?
Dylan: We all just work so well together. Whenever I go out west if it is
that crew I get so much stuff done and have the funnest time possible.
There have been a lot of riders featured in the various different Almanac
videos. From Jordan Jasa, Josh Young, and Tommy Daddano, to Lil Jon, Evan
Yamada, and even Jackson Manzie. Are there any guys that you want to get
into the Almanac videos in the future? Or is it more of a, "Whoever I'm
with at that time" kind of thing?
Dylan: It is more whoever I am with. I don't take these edits to the point
that I would seek things out to be in them. That is what makes them
good, the lack of planning at all.
The Almanac #5 Midwest Style
While these videos aren't as popular right now, they are definitely going
to be soon, and already are with a lot of people. What do you think it is
about videos that just honestly show a bunch of randomness from various
people, that have people so interested?
Dylan: I think one of the only reasons is that a lot of people look up to the
people in the video so if they put out any type of video whether it be
riding or not people are going to watch it. It is hard to understand
why some things in the videos are funny because they are inside jokes
only the people in the video know, but I mostly make the videos so we
can all look back on it and laugh.
In one of these we get to see you shoot some guns. And there have been
quite a few other moments, where you had to have been glad you had the
camera on you. Do you just keep it on you at all times? And have there been
any moments that you wished you would have had it on you, but didn't?
Dylan: I carry my flip camera everywhere with me. Absolutely no exceptions.
When I am in California we have multiple backup flip cams because we
have smashed a few. When it is dark out I switch to my iPhone because
it has a light on it.
Since this is about to get posted up on ISB, would you be stoked, or not
stoked at all, to see kids start imitating or creating their own "Almanac"
style videos?
Dylan: They already have. When I was at the San Diego competition this year
some little 12 year old kid came up to me and told me he loved the
almanac edits. This blew me away because I thought me and the people
who were in the edits were the only people that watched them. I like
to watch other peoples edits though. It is cool to see something
inspired by something I started and then people build on that. I think
my only concern is one that people have about my videos, they don't
understand some of the jokes but that is inevitable. I know Jordan
Jasa makes some good flip cam edits for sure though.
Damn dude that's sick. Do you got any last words you want to say to anyone who has watched, or is about to start watching these videos?
Dylan: Don't take these seriously they are made for a good laugh.
The Almanac #8 West Coast Style (4:16 - 4:27 TWhee = lol)
Dude I don't know about you guys, but I kind of want to dig up my old Flip cam and go film a bird or something. Keep checking Inside-Scooters for all future Almanac videos, cause we will be posting all new videos as soon as they drop, here on ISB.

Living in New Hampshire means riding during the winter isn't easy to do with all the snow everywhere. So Bobby pulled his box out into his driveway, and I don't know what that box ever did to him.. But Bobby decided to kill it with this edit.

Matt McKeen Boxes Limited Promo *VIDEO*
Matt McKeen doing what he does for Boxes Limited. Killing it. Street talent at its finest. To anyone that has honestly questioned Matt McKeen when it comes to being one of the leaders not only in the street game, but in this sport. You obviously haven't known Matt long enough to know what he's accomplished, and how he has proven himself time and time again, with sometimes even throwaway edits. His promo below has some ridiculous stuff as well, so definitely check it.

Boxes Limited/Lit: Dylan Kasson and Josh Young City Grind Edit
This is sick. Proto and Boxes' Dylan Kasson tripped it up to Michigan to ride with Tilt's Josh Young, as well as Kelly Zmijewski. At first I thought they stole the song from my summer park edit but it turned out just to be a crappy remix. But anyway the riding was dope. This park seems to be the place to do heelless noseblunt grinds. Also, word on the street has it that Josh's Tilt edit that he's been working on for over a year is gonna be released soon. Get hyped for that guys.

Ok, straight to the point, Alexis kills it in this video. Mix of park and street, with his street clips probably outshining his park clips. It's pretty crazy to see how tech these guys can get, makes me wish some American riders would start stepping up their tech/street game too.

Raymond Warner: Plain and Simple
Raymond is a close friend of mine, and someone who I really respect in this sport. He has a really great outlook on everything, and it shows in this video. Raymond has been killing it lately in the competition scene, finishing top 3 in almost every contest he's been entering. And let's face it, with the competition today, that ain't easy.
The below video was filmed and edited by Chris Blanton, who did a really good job. Raymond breaks down how he got started in the sport, and why this sport means a lot to him. Last few clips in the video are just mind blowing. And yeah for the record that was 7, over a box.

Stop SOPA/PIPA!
Whats going on with Inside today? Well today, like many other websites, we are "blacking out" (or just showing this post today) our content to protest bills being proposed by the US Congress, as well as to educate others on what these proposed bills would do if passed.
The Protect IP Act (PIPA) and Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) are proposed bills aiming to end online copyright infringement. If they go through, US law enforcement would be given the power to shut down websites hosting or linking to copyrighted content, basically censoring the Internet.
Why does this matter to you? Inside Scooters is a website that would be effected, due to the videos with copyrighted songs that we embed daily for you guys to see. Not only that, but websites like Google, Reddit, and Facebook would be ordered to hide links to copyrighted material, or even go down completely.
Want to do something about it? Sign this petition to vote no on PIPA and SOPA hosted by Google- https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/ If you want to learn more, you can check out these links:

Boxes Limited Facebook Q and A's with Dylan Kasson part 1
We've seen the Boxes Limited Facebook Q and A's before, with Brandon Kilbury. Now we get to hear from one of the most opinionated, and at times, outspoken riders in the sport, Dylan Kasson. Despite what one may think of Dylan, it is impossible to deny his skill on a scooter. He faced a lot of adversity starting out in the sport and rose above it all to become the rider he is today. Check out Part 1 of Dylans Facebook Questions below.
p.s. Yes there is some DK footy in there as well.

Mohamed Alsulaibi Throwaway
This is all Mohameds throwaway footage, as he gets ready for his 2012 Edit. I know people are going to comment on his stance, but at this point I don't think it will be changing anytime soon, haha. Guess we will find out with his 2012 Edit. Some of this throwaway is pretty sick though.

LIT'd: Roman Smith
Roman Smith AKA RJ is one of Josh Young's close riding buddies. It definitely shows in his style and the number of awesome spots shown in this video. Josh pretty much fawns over this kid, and has trained him well. Oh, and he's just 13 years old.

Terry Price 2011 Recap
Terry hasn't really had a real video part in a long time. So this is pretty cool to see, a bunch of clips filmed over the past year, from Woodward to everywhere he went on tour with Madd. All those icepick combos were so nuts.

This is a bunch of footage that Philip Long edited for Kingsley. Kingy's riding has progressed a whole lot over the past couple years, he really shreds street (rails in particular) now. Hope to see him drop more footage over the next year.

Yeah, this kid has been riding for I'm pretty sure less than 2 years. I wish I progressed half as fast as Jona does. From his driveway box videos hes put out earlier this year I could tell he was gonna be good. Definitely can't wait to see him a year or two down the line.

"Competition Day" ft Zig Short, Max Peters, and Mitch Baldry by Phillip Long
Shot and edited by Phillip Long, these three ELYTS riders give you some insight on how the competition day was for them. SD6 was one of the biggest competitions to date, so it's cool to see what these guys thought about it. It's too bad we didn't get to hear from other riders as well. Check it out below.

MGP Uk Christmas Parties + MGP West Coast Signing Pictures
MGP isn't just big in Australia, it's big everywhere, The UK included. The MGP UK Team is stacked with talent, and in the below video you'll get to see some of that. They recently made this edit made up of the MGP UK riders + The Scoot Mag guys who covered the events. You really get a feel for just how much the kids out their love MaddGear. Some bangers in here as well, and Terry Price footage which is always a treat.
Also recently, Ryan Williams and Terry Price of MGP Aus and MGP UK have been in California, and they've been quite busy. Both rode in the SD6 competition, and they also did a signing at West Coast Ride Shop. Below are some photos of that, and it doesn't get any better than Terry Price in a Penguin Hat, does it?
Keep checking Inside-Scooters for all news and updates relating to MaddGear.

Two Riders on the Come Up
These two guys are on their way up in the sport. One of them is a New York native, and the other rides frequently with Jon Devrind, one of my favorite riders to watch.
First up let's look at 14 year old Evan Barba. Riding with Jon Devrind has definitely paid off, and you can see it in his style. One thing that worries me sometimes though, with riders that ride so much with one person, is that they become mini clones of that rider. Let's hope that doesn't happen with Evan. His riding is clean and smooth, and you can tell he's only going to get better.
Next up we got a video featuring a rider from NY, Ro Capote. This video was edited and sent to me by his friend Bryant Colon, and I'm glad he sent it in. Ro rides both park and street in the video, and even a little bit of driveway footy. I definitely think he excels in the street department over park, and I hope he puts out a serious street edit in the future. Really raw style. Check it out.

Dakota Schuetz Throwaway
Dakota is considered by most the #1 Ranked rider in the world, when it comes to competitions that is. To put it simply, if he enters a contest, there is a good chance he will take home the win. Hate on it all you want, but it's been proven time and time again. Anyways this video, is not Dakota riding in a competition. This is footage from his last trip to Las Vegas. It is all throwaway footage. Check it below.
p.s. You're probably going to want to mute the song..
I take no responsibility for what is said in the comments that will be under this video. Keep it clean guys lol.

Jona Humbel Six Trick Fix
Jona says he broke his butt cheek while filming this, so that's why we don't see a banger at the end. But he still definitely kills it in this Six Trick Fix on his grind box. Really like watching Jona ride.
Remember guys if you wanna do a Six Trick Fix for Inside-Scooters, all you gotta do is the following..
1. Pick an obstacle. (grind box, box jump, ledge, quarter pipe, rail)
2. Film your six best tricks on it.
3. Email it to me! 1Stevent1@gmail.com

2 for 1 Featuring John Verhun New Edit + Mathias Holst and Hugo Svare Edit
Couple of new videos for you guys.
One of them is from a pretty unknown rider, John Vehrun from New York. From the looks of this video John can whip and spin both ways, and ride a bit of park and street. He has a long ways to go still, but this edit shows a lot of promise.
Next up is Denmark riders Mathias and Hugo. They get really tech in this little edit, and show off some smooth grind combos. I'm starting to really like watching Mathias's riding. Check it below.

I usually don't get stoked on videos of my kids that I didn't film/edit, and so when this came out last week I was a little bummed. But I watched this again today and was hyped. I actually did film a pretty good portion of this. Filming Kirk can be a bit of a challenge but with a few words of encouragement he'll usually put it down.

Haven't had a Super 60 up in a while...so Jeremy Beau decided to make one and send it in. I haven't heard a whole lot from this kid in a long time, but it looks like he's on Maddgear now? Still looks like hes shredding the ramps, classic J-Beau style.

Kaleb Kier Ten for 10
At only ten years old, it's sick to see Kaleb ripping like this. I like seeing younger kids that show real potential. VertX Pro Sponsorship Competition
US team manager for VertX Dom Marconi recently informed me of an ongoing competition to find riders to put on the team. Like the Lucky Flow team competition, but VertX is actually looking for riders to sponsor on the Professional level. VertX hopes to find 5-6 riders to put on the team. What exactly are they looking for? What do you need to do to be considered for the team? Read on:
Requirements are-
- No longer than 3 minutes
- Uploaded to Youtube
- Title must be *Insert name* VertX Sponsorship Video
- Link to video emailed to vertxcomp@live.com
- Must be sent in by February 7th
- Name
- Age
- City and state
- How long you have been riding
- Why you want to be added to the team
- Why you should be chosen for the team
Dom also had this to say:
- I better not get any emails with major grammatical errors EI dont tok lyke dis
- Make sure you take your time with your resume as well as your video. BE BROFESSIONAL
- The videos will not only be judged on riding, but on editing and filming. We would prefer the team to not be promoted by kids filming on their cell phones.
- I don't want to see an all-street or an all-park video (unless you are really good at one). I like to see a mix of riding. (Once again, unless you are very skilled in one or the other area).
- Have fun and show me what you got! This is a great opportunity and the stakes are high!
Seems like a good opportunity if you've been looking to get sponsored, good luck guys!

Boxes Limited Welcomes Its Newest Rider....
Boxes is not kidding around.. The Team of riders they have representing them and their apparel is no joke. They got some of the best talent in the world, and with the addition of their newest rider, they are only further seperating themselves from other companies. Read the promo below to learn about their newest rider.
Boxes Limited Introduces Chema Cardenas to the Team!
Boxes Limited would proudly like to introduce Chema Cardenas! Hailing from Guadalajara, Mexico, Chema has remained relatively unknown in the Scooter Industry, but with his recent Proto Scooters part being released online, plus this new Welcome Promo. You can start expecting to see a lot more Chema in the coming year!
After watching that edit it's clear that Chema is setting a new bar in the street scene. He brings such a raw style with his riding, that it makes it almost too addicting to watch. With hops that are pretty much unrivaled, and balls the size of grapefruits.. You got yourself a rider who easily sits among the top 5 street riders in the sport, hands down.
