In memory of Stevon Wilson his two long time friends Dan Barrett and Jake Hershey, got together with another one of Steve's friends Ryan Upchurch, and they made this edit for him. Gotta love how all of them can't keep the smiles off of their faces while they recall memories of Stevon. That tells you just how much they love him, and how they remember him.

RIP Steve Wilson
![]() |
| Flair from May this year. |
You might remember a couple weeks ago Steve was in a car wreck and suffered serious brain injuries...well last night/this morning he succumbed to those injuries. Although he hasn't been involved with the sport recently as he was in the past, he will be sorely missed by a lot of riders. He was in one of my favorite videos ever (also featuring Dan Barrett) and I know I'll never forget it. I didn't know Steve personally (I think I only ever met him once) but from what I saw of him he seemed like a nice guy. We got to see a little bit of his personality in the first Transit Scooter Tour DVD, as well as some really sick riding from him. From being in that first Transit video, to throwing down in the sport's first ever street jam, Steve was truly a pioneer in our sport and will always be remembered.

Stevon Wilson In Critical Condition
Jake Hershey informed me that this weekend, New Jersey OG rider Steve Wilson was badly injured in a car accident. He was a passenger and ended up having head trauma. Steve was one of the best back in the day (was a part of the Whip Scooters crew, The Philly Crew, and I believe was sponsored by both Micro and Razor at some point). He is was greatly beloved by a lot of the community, and I'm sure everyone who knew him is pulling for him right now.
Check out his sponsor video, filmed in 2007. Get better soon, Steve.

Throwback Thursday: The Philly Crew Video Journal 8
This video earned the Throwback Thursday spot for so many different reasons. Not only does it feature riders that helped put the East Coast on the map when it came to riding, but it features them at a really important time of Scootering. During the years of 2006 and 2007 I guess you can say most riders were really starting to find themselves.
Dan Barrett lowered his bars a bit, and his style improved ten fold. Matt McKeen was clearly starting to separate himself from everyone else in the street game. We would see riders like Cory Winard, Frank Coler, and Mike McGowan killing it, who we can't see riding anymore. The same can be said about Philly legends Casey Murphy and Brian Boston. Everything in this edit makes it so fun to watch. You got everyone on old school Razor models, no aftermarket parts, two killer songs, and a lot of good riding from some OGs that paved the way for a lot of riders today. Check it out.
