CooterCon 11 Video By Inside Scooters

Check it out, this is a bunch of footy I got during the comp...I say bunch loosely because I cut a LOT of clips out.  These are the best of everyone's clips.  I filmed the best trick but that video is going to have to wait a day or two to come out, sorry about that.  This was definitely a more fun Cootercon than I've experienced in the past, not the most intense but it was a good time for sure.  Props to Dakota for pulling such insane runs, he comes into every contest ready to win,  Cam Ward finally entered the Pro division and came away with 2nd place.  And of course Raymond seems to podium at every major competition, congrats to him as well.

CooterCon 11 Results...And a Word About Stealing.

Cooter Con 11 started yesterday with the Am Competition. The winners are stated below, and as soon as the Pro Results come in, they will be posted here! So keep checking back to find out of Tyler Bonner can add yet ANOTHER Cooter Con title to his huge bag of "First Place" finishes.

Seems like the Pro division was a tough one. Raymond Warner has always, and will always be a top contender when it comes to any competition he is riding in. Cameron Ward, after being criticized by people for what division he has rode in, proves that he can hang in the Pro division with no problem. And Dakota who has been a force to be reckoned with ever since the Razor Exposed Tour last year, comes out on top.

I also want to add, late today after the competition was over, Blunt TM Ryan Upchurch had his $1400 laptop stolen...sadly this is not the first time something has been stolen at a Cootercon.  From what I hear the person who took it has been identified but has not returned the laptop.  Ryan had 2 years worth of footage for the ECX dvd "Butter" on it, which obviously is irreplaceable.  I hope the person who stole it can own up for his actions and return it.  Ryan's laptop wasn't the only thing stolen this weekend.  On Saturday Zero Gravity's camera was stolen, which had a week's worth of clips from the team.  Definitely doesn't reflect on the NW well.

New Poll: Cootercon 11

As the next Cootercon competition is fast approaching, I decided to make the poll asking whether or not you will attend.  The 11th in the series at Skatebarn West in Renton, WA will be taking place over two days this time, instead of one as previous years.  This is a nice change, as it'll definitely give competition organizers a lot more time to do everything as well as improve the overall event experience.  I say event because this competition is traditionally not only a competition, but a tradeshow where the best and biggest companies gather to show off their stuff for riders, parents and each other.  Products like the Phoenix deck and Inward Victory bars have been debuted at this contest.

So, this years Beginner, Intermediate, and Pro Qualifiers will be held on Saturday, April 9th...and April 10th being the day of the tradeshow and Pro Finals.  Think you're going to attend?  Tell us over on The Inside Forum, where you can find more info about the competition.

Razor Exposed Tour: Cootercon Video

Here's the highlights from the footy I got of the Pro comp and Best Trick. I know Steven already wrote up a super awesome article but I feel like adding on a bit. This was probably the most intense competition I've been to. Literally every rider in the pro division came out swinging with huge bangers. The atmosphere when Dakota and Tyler rode was amazing. When either of those two went down the bridge to hit up the rollin or the huge bank to pyramid landing, everyone stopped to watch. After this competition there is no doubt in my mind that Tyler is the best rider in the world. What other rider can say they have 16 competition wins under their belt?

Also big ups to Dakota and Mike Montgomery. Dakota pretty much came from nowhere onto the competition scene this year, and definitely showed he can ride with the best. Some of the things he can do are definitely mindblowing. And Mike Montgomery, coming out of the comp with a 3rd place as well as winning best trick. That truck he did was so gnarly.

And finally a huge thanks to the organizers of the Tour, Kim Funk and Dave Ward. None of this would have been possible without them, they deserve huge props. And I won't forget head judge Steven Tongson, I know he did his best to keep the judging running fairly and smoothly.

CooterCon

On April 11th in Renton,WA at Skatebarn West, the 7th CooterCon competition will be taking place. Every year this competition gets bigger and bigger. What once started as a competition for Washington locals, now brings in different riders from all over the US. This year will be no different. On April 11th, some of the best riders in the US will be coming together at Skatebarn West to compete against each other once again on the parks massive course. To give you an idea on the caliber of riders that will be riding in the competition I'll name a few; RAD Crew's Tyler Bonner and Stan Smirnoff, FrenchID's Alex Peasley, and Eaglesport's James Gee and Greg Cohen. The amateur division of riders will not disapoint either, with riders such as; Inward-Scooter's Cory Vanlew, and Washington up and comers Nate Wagoner and Cooper Klaar to name a few. The competition will be as intense as its ever been this year, thats for sure. Prizes will also be better, with companies like PROTO, Eaglesport, and Inward-Scooters sponsoring the event. If you are anywhere in the Washington area, and are interested in riding in this competition or simply coming to support the sport and watch what these riders can do. I advise you to come to Skatebarn West on April 11th. Below is some information about the Park and competition.


As a bonus for everyone that is attending the competition will be a FIRST HAND look at some new products that have been in development for a while now. Inward Scooters and Eaglesport have been working together on new products that will be first shown at the event.
