ReplyDeleteEvery rider is a critic. Not everyone grew up in a cookie cutter neighborhood with white picket fences who parents buy them every new product that comes out. You have to remember Razor came out with a scooter TEN years ago, so riders who have been in the sport for so long are able to drink and go to strip clubs if they damn well please. Yea maybe posting a flyer with adult situations in them on a website where its nothing but a bunch of little kids who talk tough and post racist slurs under the name Anonymous might be risky. But would seeing that flyer really make you want to raid your daddy's liquor cabinet?
ReplyDeleteI'm about to be 22 and I seriously think that this sport needs a variety of style rather than just kids who get big headed with they can do a handful of tricks and think that they are hot shit. When all they do is film day edits at their local skatepark. I say grab a fucking beer and chill the fuck out. What are you afraid of change.

Big things are gonna be thrown down, pretty sick set up of riders. Sure the flier could have a less "explicit" material if you want to call it that. But, from what I understand, these guys aren't part of a huge corporate business trying to make tons of money, they're just riding and living life. Have an AZ tour this winter when it's not 1000 degrees out outside!

That party was put together by a lot of supporters of scooter riders. They are not "strippers" and we werent at a "strip club" they were actually a lot of people who seen us ride locally and came out to a pajama/lingerie party I threw at my house and the girls wanted a stripper pole to make the bachelor pad complete. Instead of looking at it as how explicit it may be... try looking at it as the potential of how much ppl will show love to scooter riders in the future. Your welcome to the ppl who liked it, and apologies to those who were offended. Thanks again to all for your support, and i will do my best to please as much of our industry as possible in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe party scene is so overrated and this flyer is well, very immature! Look what happened to Tiger Woods. Not so well respected anymore and lost a lot of endorsements as a consequence of poor behavior. Which will probably happen here. But we only learn life's lessons in time! If we were able to learn from other peoples mistakes, I guess it wouldn't be life. I had to learn the hard way myself!

Every time I see the sport moving in a the direction of finally being socially fucking accepted it gets criticized by little shits who have obviously not had any real life experiences yet. ReplyDeleteProbably the dumbest fucking flyer I've ever seen. You rarely see skate companies putting a bunch of party pictures on their flyers, only Baker boys dist can get away with that and they rarely do it. They focus on actual riding photos which Elyts doesn't have because instead of focusing on riding they focus on the party. Also, being more "grown up" isn't going to get you any where with promoting your company. The market in scootering is little kids, and when the parents see this flyer, they aren't going to want to buy your product or go to a Elyts demo because you have photos of underage drinking (Jon), girls, a stripers pole and a passed out kid. Plus the photos used here suck, did you ask some drunk chick to go around with her party camera and just snap off pics. And try wearing some fucking clothes instead of gym shorts and pajama's, it makes you guys look like a bunch of lazy fucks. Oh and this isn't no "tour" its a team trip. You don't see skate companies going around and making a flyer saying where they will be street skating. Plus the guy who funds Elyts doesn't give a fuck about scootering he just knows there is going to be money in it, he spoils Zig with this huge ass house in San Diego. We'll see how the owner feels when this company crash and burns and he's living in some one bedroom apartment in the low income part of SD. Oh yeah, while the owner is still loaded, maybe he should hire a decent graphic designer.

Like it or not, this sport is still predominantly kids under the age of 16.
ELYTS is starting to look like that love to hate them crew. people need to understand the sport is growing and so are the pros. What people really need to be complaining about is why the hell these companies aren't paying any of their pros after ther all these scooters parts they sell to shops. I have a nitch that ELYTS is going to be the Nike SB of scooters and everyone is going to want a pair in and out of the scooter world. With the looks of it they already have a bunch of haters let alone fans, they are bound to be famous. B
