Blunt Pro Scooters Sneak Peek

One of the things that we unfortunately don't see enough of in the industry, is innovation. Though every once in a while we get lucky. Well, guess what? We're about to get lucky again. Blunt Pro Scooters has been working on something special for most of the year in 2010.

What Blunt is working on might possibly be the "future" when it comes to wheels in our sport. For a while now, Blunt has been testing and perfecting the first, and only, Polycarbonate Core Scooter wheel. The BMX industry has already found the great advantages of polycarbonate pedals, and now Blunt will be bringing this technology to scooters.

Polycarbonate, or what you might know it better as, is the stuff that makes bullet proof glass. It is half the weight of Aluminum and the strength is incredible. In January Blunt will be releasing the first range of their polycarbonate products to all Blunt Pro Scooters Dealers throughout the world.

Take a sneak peek below

  7. I wouldn't bank on this product being 100%.. Where I live when Blunt first started to release their products they were very popular. But a lot of it has shown to be pretty faulty.. There has been two pairs of strippers bent within 3 months of riding.. ALOT of bearings. and an Ace of Spades deck was broken..

  8. S#*% breaks.. you're crazy if you think everything lasts for ever.

  9. ^ well buddy. what you gotta remeber is that the first model of a product that is released, is usually the worst.they build on it from there.im sure these wont be the best wheels Blunt makes.but these r the 1st of their kind.give em a chance.: ).they sound good to me man.

  16. My only concern with this is that Polycarbonate is a very brittle material, and alot of sharp impacts might crack it over time as opposed to the softer aluminum core wheels.

  17. cracks in the bearing slots is my bet.

  19. Hey Nick,
Polycarbonate has many many different forms, from baby bottles to BMX Pegs.. We have developed these wheels over 12 months, and we have pretty much gone through all types. What we have ended up with, is pretty damn strong. I do feel sorry for those companies that follow in copying these things..

  20. I think the main thing companies need to focus on when it comes to wheels is the urethane formula, and not the core strength. I have not broke any cores on any type of metal core wheel. But I always have problems with chunking and dehubbing.
