I recently watched a video in which a Youtube skateboarding "star" went and learned whips and 360s on a scooter within 6 minutes. He did this to "prove" that riding scooters is much easier than skating. Why he even cares I am not sure (probably insecure about his lack of actual skateboarding relevance), but the issue of which sport is harder is one you often hear about at the park or online, and I figured I'd give my opinion.
First of all, this guy thought that since he learned those tricks, and because the majority of scooter riders have yet to learn the basics, that he is better than all of them. This might be true if he wasn't comparing himself to a bunch of 8 year olds. Obviously a grown 20 something year old man will have better coordination and skill than a prepubescent child. It's really quite embarrassing to him that he would make such a comparison.
My next point might not be the scooter riders' favorite, but it's true. It IS easier to pick up scootering than it is skateboarding. The basics of scootering are easier to learn than skating. Anyone can get on a scooter and push around, bunnyhop, and manage a sketch tailwhip (as he so kindly demonstrated). Getting balance down and pushing on a board is harder. Dropping in, hitting transitions, hips, etc., are all things even kids can do on scooters.
But we do need to look at it a little differently. In my eyes, a tailwhip is no more difficult than an ollie. Anyone can manage a shitty ollie their first time on a board with a little bit of practice. Same with a 360, it's more like a 180 on a skateboard in terms of difficulty. I'd go on to say a double whip is equivalent to a kickflip, and so on, all the way up to tricks that pros in either respect are doing. It gets a little harder with the comparisons as you go on, but obviously there are tricks that take a huge amount of effort, skill, and practice to achieve in both sports.
Scootering is easier to pick up than skateboarding, but both are probably equally as hard to truly master. Bottom line though, is who cares? We all do it for fun anyway. It's not about what's harder. We all know little kids on scooters are annoying, but so are little kids on skateboards...and that's really the underlying issue behind the conflicts between scooter riders and everyone else.
What do you think? Agree, disagree? Drop a line and let me know.
Truuuuuuu
ReplyDeleteI ride both scooters and skateboards, and yes skateboarding is much harder than scootering, but does doing something that is harder give you the authority to give scooter riders shit? Yes, there are annoying snakes who ride scooters who are little and they ruin the reputation of the sport, but they don't snake and annoy the shit out of everyone because they ride a scooter. They snake and annoy people because they are 8! The reason why these kids are prodominatly riding scooters is because as some of you have said they have terrible hand-eye cooardination and probably could last less than 5 seconds on a fucking skateboard. I am 100% sure that if you gave a little scooter kid a skateboard they would snake just as much as if they were on a scooter, and would probably cause MORE accidents cause they couldn't ride the fucking thing. At the end of the day we are all out here doing what we love doing and we all need to accept that there are gonna be 6 year old snakes out there *which most likely will be riding a scooter* and we need to stop the hate and get along.
Deletegood points, both skating & scootering have their difficulties, I personally do both its just hard for people who dont know much about the scootering scene to see past the 8 year old snakes and find something positive to say about the sport.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this video. It seems to me that this person is just a youtube attention whore haha, he's got a whole hodgepodge of different vids on there. The way I see it is this, the whole video is out of aspect, it's like comparing apples to oranges. Skating isn't any harder than scootering, and scootering isnt any harder than skating. A kick flip is harder than a tail whip, but a backflip 4 whip is harder than a kickflip. So the whole comparison is completly immature. If he was really committed to skateing he wouldn't feel the need to bitch and moan about how it's harder than scootering. He probably got butthurt and needed to vent on a parking lot hHah
ReplyDeleteYou,are a faggot.go get a board right now and do a 1foot high Ollie.ill go get a scooter and do a 360 whip.lts see who lands it first.
DeleteI can do a 1 foot ollie. and a 360 whip. I barely ever ride skateboards though.
Deletei agree lets see you get your trucks on a 14 inch ledge .. ill bunnyhop that on a toy scooter first try
DeleteSk8ting is much more difficult than being able to scooter a basic analysis is like he said, the kid on the scooter is annoying and so is the kid on the skateboard but the kid in the skateboard is probably cooler the way I see it is the scooter is for that kid at the sk8 park who can't Ollie and needs training wheels (handle bar) also they're called skate shops and skate parks not scooter shops and scooter parks. My park was dominated by skaters (including myself) up until about 3 years ago when all the noobs rolled in on their Walmart scooters and the most I've ever seen them do is a half a grind on a rail that's half a foot off the ground. SK8 FOR LIFE!!
DeleteYou can't jump 14 inches on a scooter so don't act like you could
DeleteIf you think about does scoot wrong being easier make it worse somehow? Or does it make it more effective and practical? But there is definatly more freedom with a skateboard making it more difficult and vice Versace with scooters
DeleteI think that skateboarding takes more skill and devotion
Deletei hate this site and hope it dies because u think that skateboarding is so easy go try it yourself. Everything you can do on a board you can do on a scooter. SKATEBOARDING IS HARDER GET OVER IT
DeleteI ride both I agree they have an equal amount of difficulty to master but there close
DeleteCould not have said it better myself
ReplyDeleteEach sport has their own degree of difficulty. I've always believed that scooters are easier to start out on but harder to progress on past a certain point. In terms of leveraged tricks, nosemanuals and 50's are much harder to do on a scooter than on a skateboard. It's a stupid comparison though because you are comparing apples to oranges. And entirely pointless. The whole Ninja guy thing just needs to die out. He is obviously desperate for subscribers and has no respect for our sport or extreme sports in general. I've been putting up with the shit from other riders for a minute and his video was actually made me feel cool (in comparison to him anyway). Anyway, sometimes you just gotta smooch the gooch and enjoy what you do regardless of the reactions around you.
ReplyDeleteSmooch the gooch. \m/
Deletescooters are super fucking easy snd some scooter kids are cool most are gay
DeleteSkaters are more gnarly and clutch than a stupid scooter kid will be, do you ever see a 20 year old man riding a scooter? Also guys like Tony hawk and Natas Kaupas made their living skating, it's obvious that a skateboard is better than a scooter so quit playing in the breast milk and pick up a board with 4 wheels and no handle bars
Deletethank you god im actually doing a persuasive writing in school rn talking about skateboarding is better
DeleteSame
DeleteTake it easy fella
DeleteLook at ryan williams, Dakota shuetz. Those guys have devotion. Yeah skating is harder but, I rode skateboards before and I'm scootering right now, I gotta say, skateboard tricks look cooler but scooter tricks are usually fasted paced.
DeleteD
ReplyDeleteAnd the reason the majority of snakes at skate parks ride scooters because like you said, they can pick it up instantly and ride around rather than a board, or a bike. And the fact of comparing the scooter kids to all riders is bogus because you giv that child who snakes everyone on his scooter a bike, his lack of skatepark etiquette will show then too. He is just looking for attention because all he has in life is his swagninjaglasses account. Because obviously skateboarding isn't enough fun for him to just do.
ReplyDeleteCopypasting a comment I left under that video:
ReplyDeleteWell, it’s true that some basic tricks are harder on a skateboard than on a scooter, but why do you think this exact fact makes skateboarding ‘cooler’? Why don’t you guys throw all your skateboards and try to ride a unicycle, because this thing is clearly the hardest one to get into, right? (Not trying to offend any unicycle riders, just thought it’s quite a good example.)
Also I play two instruments: guitar and violin. And I should say violin is MUCH harder to play and takes a lot more time to practice. Should I make a video claiming that all guitar players are pussies who ‘are choosing to avoid difficulty and challenge’? Obviously I won’t do this because I’m not some ignorant and arrogant asshole with faulty logic who isn’t clever enough to respect other peoples’ opinions and choices. Sorry to be real!
Sooooo true!!!
Deletei love you so much
DeleteDude you r soo true
Deletethis one is good
Deletecould someone link that video please
ReplyDeletelook up ninja lifestyle scootering
DeleteSkating is way harder than scootering... no one can deny it, but there's no point in choosing skating just because its harder. To actually get good at scootering is definitely not easy though. Its too bad its so easy to jump on a scooter and be able to do a few shitty tricks though. It makes it look bad and easy for little snakes to enjoy and pick up... that's why there's far more scooter kids compared to skating and bmx
ReplyDeleteJust another perfect example of someone who is only Skating because he thinks it's cool. If he loved what he did, and truly had a passion for it, he wouldn't have shit to say about ANY other sport..because he would understand that that person is simply doing something they loved, just like he is.
ReplyDeleteThat dude looks like a little bitch though.
COMMENT OF THE YEAR
DeleteThat was an eloquently put comment. I think the main reason he talks shit on them is for comedic reasons. It's funny to listen to him hate on things haha
DeleteThat guy would murder your scrawny little bitch ass
DeleteHaha, he called me scrawny..... Yeah, 6'5, 225lbs. Sooo scrawny. I'd wreck his shit.
Deletedon't mess with his chicken nuggets or he will fall in the ocean and cause a tsunami
Deletebottom line is the possibilities are infinite with all action sports, therefore this argument is invalid.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I thought that video was fucking hilarious, when he whipped that old ass pro model out the truck of what I think's a toyota and the camera man yelled "2002" was funny as hell. He kicked the living shit out of that scooter at the end of the video too
ReplyDeleteConsidering picking up a skateboard and doing the same thing lol
ReplyDeleteHave fun falling faggot
Deletekill urself
DeleteOn any given say I see hundreds of flatground kickflips performed by dozens of people at a skatepark.
ReplyDeleteOn any given week I might see one double whip if I'm lucky.
On the basis of EQUALITY I see an equal number of tailwhips as kickflips on any given day. The only difference is that a tailwhip can be learned in a matter of seconds.
well, thats half true, kickflios are harder then tailwhips and thats right but it will take someone that just getting started about a month to get a tailwhip down
DeleteThe only reason he made that video was because scooter riders were commenting on his video saying to learn how to do a tailwhip or 360 since he said its so easy, and he did. The main purpose was to prove those that said he couldnt land a tailwhip that they were wrong
ReplyDeleteI think scooters and their users are a skatepark-disease. To compare an Ollie with a tailwhip or a skateboard-180 with a scooter 360 is so weak. A friend of mine tried to learn an ollie for several days. It took him like i would say at least 6-8hours to finally have a good ollie down which was like 10-20cm high with him landing on the board without falling. His eyes opened wide and he felt that joy that we all feel when we land a trick that we tried to land for 100 times. The fact alone that BlackNinja (the guy in that youtube-video you are mentioning sarcastically) landed those two tricks (tailwhip and 360) in about 6 minutes shows you the amount of effort you have to invest into scootering which is -compared to Skateboarding- almost none! I am beginner and learning the frontside180 right now and after days and days i still dont have it down save. I bet you here right now that i will get a scooter 360 down in like 5 minutes. I am shocked about the amount of companies here on the side that are into scootering trying to sell it as a cool thing which it is not at all. To me it`s like a skateboard with a handbar. Not more not less. And i think that blackninja does not skate because he thinks it makes him look cool but because he is passionate with his sport. Scooters have just no respect. They feel like scootering is on one level with all the other sports in the skatepark. IT IS NOT. The harder and the more often you fall, the the harder is the sport. So how often and how hard do you fall on a Skateboard,BMX, Rollerblades or Scooters? Yes you got it.
ReplyDeleteyou with your big ass paragraph acting like u know something! u and everyone else talking like triple whips briflips and 360s are hard in the eyes of scooters are clearly fucking dumbasses! i agree u can learn a 360 in minutes , but could you take that 360 down a 20 set?? i dont fucking think so.. and ur comment about how often you fall on scooter? are u seriously retarded?? ur labeling all scooter riders as those kids u see at ur skatepark which isnt the case dude. go have fun with ur little front 180s right before u quit skating because u realized u were only doing it because you thought u were cool in ur huff socks in the first place
DeleteI used to skateboard, I learned a frontside 180 in two days, it just depends on what talent and time you put into something. For some people a tail whip can be a 5 minute learn for others it can be a 10 day learn it just depends on the person. But when you get into more advanced tricks in riding, you'll see they take longer to learn, just like skateboarding if you learn kick flips and get them down to where it's easy to do them then you get frontside 180s down to where it's easy to do them it is going to be easy to learn a frontside kick flip. Same rules apply to riding a scooter there's frontside, backside, heel, and tail, etc.. Neither one can be classified easy than the other, but scooter ridin is easier to pick-up. And I'm not being bitchy or nothing I like skateboarding as well as I like scooter riding just saying.
DeleteAction sports all intertwine. when I was a little kid I had a skateboard and never got the hang of doing an ollie. after scootering for almost two years, my friend taught me the motion for an ollie. in less than 15 minutes I could ollie pretty consistently, and 180's and shove-its came shortly after (not as consistenly, however, considering my board has no griptape, it can't turn, and i only practiced for about 3 minutes).Since the BlackNinja has been skateboarding for a while, you should expect him to be able to learn those tricks quickly.
DeleteBUTTHURT SCOOTER CUNTS
ReplyDeleteNice one cunt
Deleteskateboarding sucks cause ripsticking is much harder, which means that skateboard is for pussies and ripstick is for real men. Also, bmx is wack and easy cause riding a monobike is harder
ReplyDelete- jonas kjær
That's the most ridicules thing I've ever herd. Comparing a bmx to a motor bike is like comparing a scooter to an electric scooter... Good luck living you life on that, think of the comparisons.. Skateparks were built for skateboards and are somtimes mostly skater donations. Imagine if you scooters all funded up enough money for a scoot park, and skaters took over got in your way in mass amounts. You would really want to ban skateboards? Right? You need to take of your moon boots and look through the skaters shoes... Yes scooters are easier, but would I be able to double backflip a 20 set in an hour? No, I wouldn't. But would you be able to triple tre flip a ledge in a few years?? No. You get my point....
DeleteThe hardest part about scootering is telling your parents you're gay
ReplyDeleteThank you. Now scooters will dissappear the same way rollerblades did.
Delete"I'M NOT GAY YOU GUUYYYS!! PLEEASE BEELIEEVE MEEE!"
that "joke" is only a billion years old. nice one pal!
DeleteAre you guys retarded? It takes months to get 180s
ReplyDeleteu fucking suck then, coming from a skater
DeleteI started skating 1 month ago and i can do 180s, shovits, kickflips, heelflips and fakie bigspins. When i have been scootering the tailwhip took me longer but i think it was because i was younger then
DeleteI am older and could technically be the dad of one of those scooter babies. I have always loved scooters and was dreaming of riding obstacles with a scooter long before anyone started doing it. That's why I started to skate a little, which I also like. Now in my 30s, I couldn't resist putting together my own cruiser scooter (mainly TSI), and let me tell you, apart from cruising and doing a nice bunny hop, I found it harder to learn to tail whip than learning to ollie.
ReplyDeleteScooters are bad and you should feel bad
ReplyDeleteim a pro scooer rider and this made me laugh really hard, scooters are definantly gay compared to skating, but bikers are pretty fuckin gay
DeleteHAHAHAHA keep sticking together! Master Scootering... HAHA!
ReplyDeleteI am a 14 year old bmx rider and I learned to backflip, bri flip, and triple whip (Supposedly hard tricks) a scooter within 10 minutes.. (6 minutes of that time was spend trying to convince my friends I wasn't becoming a homosexual) Sorrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy ,as Ninja would put it, that you got your panties in a wad over someone proving that your sport is easy at best. Age has nothing to do with athletic skill, anyone who thinks that is just a whiner making excuses for why they suck massive amounts of cock and can't commit to getting better every day. As for Ninja he's not the biggest Youtube skate star, this is true... But he HANDS DOWN is the most well known, you'd have a hard time finding a Youtube skater who didn't know about Ninja, as for the scooter fags calling him a bitch... I HIGHLY doubt any of you would have the balls to say that to him in person. Give us a call when you pull the vibrating dildos out of your asses and try a real sport. We find it hilarious you guys go so butthurt you had to make a whole website dedicated to talking shit about a single video.
ReplyDeleteThe whole website isn't about one video. It is a news website, posting relevant videos and other things about the scooter industry (like TCU). In fact, it hasn't even talked shit, it simply stated why this guy was incorrect.
Deleteyou sound like one of those cocky sons of bitches that thinks they are top shit and have some kind of authority because u ride a fucking bike over a scooter. by the way your talking your no "bmx rider" at all but actually a egotistic uneducated improperly raised attention seeking pussy who is a shame to the bmx community. AM I RIGHT??
DeleteIf your 14 years old, I would expect you to grow up and quit posting bullshit lies on a website that is dedicated to industry and riding news, not talking shit, on your mom's laptop locked in your closet.
Delete6ou can love riding a scooter all you 2ant, but if you think it is as hard as other extreme sports you are delusional. Minus blades, scooter are so easy. If you aren't a wimpy little kid and you actually have bass you can learn most scooter tricks in a day.
Deleteyou bunch of fags
ReplyDeleteits not about what is harder or anything. Kids were offended by him and argued about the difficulty. and so are you guys. i personally dont care about that kind of shit as a skater myself, but hey..have you ever seen oldass people getting to work with scooters? they look like total idiots - and thats the point im aiming for in this comment. no matter what age you are, everyone looks like a faggot on a scooter for outstanding people aaaand THIS article right above is a proof for me that you ARE total faggots. you should go delete all your comments and learn a bit about youtube and how youtube works
I don't get to work on a scooter. My work is riding a scooter.
Deleteyea... maybe thats because youve only seen them on razor scooters trying to learn to push? idk but i can tell you that styles a matter of opinion and if you watched real riders you'd think differently. good luck with the whole only skating looks cool mentality
Deletethe fact that this was even posted on inside is fucking whack haha why even watch that stupid video. i know i havent. nobody talks shit to me at the skatepark. and the ones who do make comments and shit usually suck at skating.
ReplyDeleteI dont blame people for not talking shit to you, theyd probley get there ass kicked if they did hahah
Deletewhy dont you scooter fags stop crying. it takes time to learn how to ollie you fucking idiot
ReplyDeleteYou literally are retarded aren't you? My friend has a board and I learned an Ollie on my second try. It's the simplest thing in the world. The difference is actually doing an Ollie down a stair set, but that's the same as doing a 360 or tailwhip off a stair set. Why are you even on a Scooter website? Get a life
Deletei love scootering
ReplyDeletei love scootering
ReplyDeleteI was scootering for more than 2 years but decided to quit scootering and start skating since 1 month ago. I did not quit because "scootering is gay" or i wanted to be cool because of skateboarding. Im skating because its fun. after 1 month of skating i learned most of the basics of skating (180s, shove its, kickflips, heelflips, bigspins). In my opinion it is not harder than scootering. Blackninja just hates all the scooter riders because he only recognizes them as the little kids in the skateparks who are always in your way and who cant do any cool tricks. It isnt about the sport, its about the age. problem is that
ReplyDeleteThe comparison between scooters and skateboards is like comparing apples and oranges, that is the truth. there are infinite possibilities in all action sports therefore it is completely mindless stupidity to state that one is harder than the other... its just illogical. all action sports are about having fun and doing what you love, so if one is truly passionate about his or her sport they would be able to respect all other sports as it is the same passion expressed differently. Anybody who hates on someone for doing something that they are enjoying is coming purely from a place of insecurity and i feel bad while reading all the negative comments on here because it seems that a lot of people haven't come up with this realization in their lives. this truth isn't something I or any scooter rider getting hated on has to defend, because every single insecure person who spends their time hating on something will eventually realize that the problem is within them, hopefully sooner than later because insecurity is the root to everything bad in this world. i could go deeper into this but there is no need because the truth is like a lion, not needing to be defended and will bite you in your insecure ass
ReplyDeleteKyron Power you are the man
DeleteCouldn't agree more with the first part of your statement. No matter what sport or activity you're doing the sky is the limit, and you're going to find extremely talented people pushing those limits. It's hard to draw parallels between two sports becuase they're completely different. Are backflips harder on skateboard than bmx? sure seems like it, but that doesn't make skateboarding as a whole harder, it just means a pro skateboarder is going to do a single backflip where a pro bmx or scooter rider does a double. The way I see it, when you're doing ANY activity better than 90% of the people out there, the things you're doing are problably "hard", whether it's on a skateboard, a scooter, a bike, or a fucking chessboard.
DeleteI having been a skater myself say a kickflip is equivalent to a tailwhip, There honestly not that hard.
ReplyDeleteIf you scooter you're a fag. Hands down, no questions asked
ReplyDeleteWhat if my hands are up? Then what does that mean im not a fag? What if i asked questions thow? Then what does that mean?
DeleteComparing freestyle sports in this manner is pointless. The possibilities are endless. You can't "win" scootering and you can't "win" skateboarding. Scooter riders are continually doing new tricks as well as skateboarders. Some tricks are easy, some are hard. It's not like comparing different levels of a videogame.
ReplyDeleteWow, that entire video was cancerous. Lmaoo I can smell the ignorance through my computer screen, pretty easy to chose something controversial such as comparing scootering to skating just to stay relevant with some garbage ass channel. imo skating is harder (at least for me) but to bash on scootering is pretty stupid because him and a lot people can't comprehend that other people have preferences and tastes. Just you don't ride a skateboard doesn't make you a fucking loser it's just what you want to do. On a side note this guy doesn't exactly look so "hot" so sticking your butt higher isn't helping you case
ReplyDeleteScooters are gay <3
ReplyDeleteskateboards are way harder and slay more bitches then but hole faggout scooter cunts scooterrs go killyour selfs <3
ReplyDeleteNot sure why this even needs to be brought up. This discussion literally accomplishes nothing. Why can't we just ride our little "fag" mobiles and discuss things that actually matter? But then again majority of scooter kids are brain dead, so why am I surprised?
ReplyDeleteScootering is the gayest fucking thing in all skateparks i would all kill you in yout sleep and btw all you scooters are never gonna eat pussy for braekfeast like skaters do motherfuckers
ReplyDeleteNotice the two different personalities of each sport by their comments. The skaters seem like they are all pissed off and like they have something to prove while the scooter riders are more chilled out and argue from a more logical standpoint. See i have been riding scooters now for 8 years. I've gotten to the point where none of this shit bothers me. If you're a normal person who has no knowledge or preference of either sport and you watch the video this article is based on or even just read these comments, that person will just see the skaters being immature and arrogant as fuck. Any person who talks shit about another sport just because they think the sport they chose is cooler is just making themselves look immature. I respect all sports, i give props to anyone who does something cool, no matter the sport. If someone loves what they do and wants to push a specific skill, then let them. Don't put them down just cause its not what you do. I was a scooter coach at Woodward Tahoe over the summer and i found myself teaching a variety of different sports because i am passionate about what i do and i enjoy seeing people progress no matter what sport they like. Its sad that skateboarding has made talking shit to other sports a trend cause they're just making themselves look like the Nazi's of extreme sports. If that's how you want to represent yourself, then be my guest. I'm just going to do what i love, and that's riding my fucking scooter. Talk shit all you want because it's doing nothing but making yourself look dumb.
DeleteSo you can spell all your important cus words, but can't spell BREAKFAST? Ignorance and maturity at its best right here.
DeleteAll skateboarders do is Bitch about everything else like little girls ...and the fact you guys are on a scooter site shows what lol
ReplyDeleteThis 'scoot' community is sad.
ReplyDeleteyes skaters only eat pussy cause they have no dicks
ReplyDeletescooters are for weakling easiers things to learn shit on. takes no skill
ReplyDeleteNot a matter. Some other sports such like inlineskating and freelineskating are much harder.
ReplyDeleteA 180 on a board is as easy as a 360 on a scooter piss off and a tailwhip compared to a ollie. A shit ollie takes abot a day to learn a clean tailwhip takes about 10 mins. You should try skating and rewrite this blog. And maybe grow some balls in the process
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that if so many of these "other" riders think Scooters, Scooter riders, Scooter blogs or anything scooter related is so fu#@ing g@y and we are a bunch of little butt hurt so and so's, then why do they take a minute of their very important, great riding skill selves to go to a scooter blog site and post this crap. Maturity does not come with age obviously, and no matter what action sport you are a rider for, you can be a narrow minded, hateful, non respectful, no good, worthless piece of shit. Geez can't everyone just love the sport you love, respect that others might love a different sport and just learn to coexist. None of this is productive, all is shows is that there is a shitload of keyboard warriors out there. And yes, some of you can even spew your venomous words in person, cuz you got "balls", but no one is impressed. About 99% of you will grow up one day, and realize that you were a total bully in one way or another. And hopefully your own children won't have to deal with this crap, but if and when they do, please remember that KARMA'S a bitch! Just hop on your skateboard, your bike, your scooter, your skates, whatever it is your ride and go ride and stop worrying about what is better, what is cooler, what is easier, etc. Does it really matter, in the scheme of things? No
ReplyDeleteScooters<skating
ReplyDeleteI think you need to grow a dick faggot
ReplyDeleteI have been riding for fourteen years. Grew up skateboarding and riding BMX. Though I always found myself learning a handful of tricks and getting bored of both BMX and Skating. Scooters have been the only thing that I can ride constantly while progressing and not get bored of. The comparison between sports is just dumb. Kids nowadays have no brains of their own, lead around like sheep. Following the trends set by the pro athletes in their industries. Kids also have a serious issue with being disrespectful to one another. Nobody gives a shit if you started riding, skating, whatever, because your friends started doing it in junior high or high school. Nobody gives a shit if you have serious insecurity issues. If you enjoy riding a bike or skateboard, fucking sweet. But get off your high horses and grow the fuck up. Quit talking down to other sports. Quit trying to say "if you don't do what I do, you're a faggot!" Would you say the same to someone who is a gamer?! How about a contractor in construction?! Because that is literally how far off our industries are from one another. I've shared my passion in skateboarding, BMX and Scootering over my life time. And because of experiencing all different sides of the spectrum, I know what true tolerance is. I could find something "cool" or "skillful" in pretty much anything, no matter how lame it may look to me. The problem is in the youth. Kids don't have park etiquette and some parents treat the local skatepark as a free nanny service so they can drop their kids off and not have to deal with them. But then we also have punks who go around spewing nonsense because they haven't been taught how to respect people around you. Those parents are enabling them. To me, having no respect is worse than getting snaked at the park. Sure, everyone hates being snaked by a kid at the park, no matter what that kid rides. But if you talk shit and disrespect someone at the park, that is far uglier than someone not knowing how to navigate a park.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing. It's easy to be ignorant about something you don't understand. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But if you present yourself like a child, you're only making your sport/industry look immature.
Good points. It is easy to figure all that stuff out three seconds after watching the video though. An ollie on a skateboard is not the equivalent to a bunnyhop on a scooter. Just because a trick that is possible on both scooters and skateboards is harder on a skateboard, doesn't make skating harder than scootering.
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice post and thanks for sharing such kind of very useful information which is very informative, Thank you !
ReplyDeleteBuy Online Electric Skateboards
scooters are pretty much half a skateboard with two to three wheels and a hand bar…..man up and take up a real hobby/lifestyle/career and start skateboarding. There is a reason why a skatepark is called a skatepark not a scoot park.
ReplyDeleteAll i want to say is that i used to skate for about a year and i liked it but one day a saw a guy tailwhip a four stair at a park and so i wanted to start to give scooters a try (this was a bout 2 years ago) and im still riding scooters because its fun. so ride what u wanna ride and dont hate!
ReplyDeletewell i hate scooters
DeleteThe only reason this guy posted this video because someone wanted him to prove that he could do these tricks easily, and he did. He proved his point.
ReplyDeleteThis is on a bloody scootering website all you are going to get is hate for skating from 10 year old kids who do bunny hops and showing off to their 3 year old sister and mum at the skatepark
ReplyDeletedude ninja might compare himself to little 8 year old scooters that "cant learn the basics" because there "not coordinated" but almost all the 8 year old skateboarders KNOW THERE BASICS!!!! why? because there not pussy's, said and done

Skateboarding is much much harder
ReplyDeleteSkateboarding is much much harder
ReplyDeleteHow about manuals my dear friend? Much easier to hold with more wheels no?
Deletescooters get in the way
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you say. All scooter riders are blamed because of the small children , they
ReplyDeleteAll say that the are gay but , in reality , they are like anyone else at the skatepark
what the fuark man, it took me 2 months to ollie over a scooter (realtalk). skaters learning to do 180s on their first day are the minority. in scooting it's like if you don't land a quadruple tailwhip on your first day, u should probably stop right away.
ReplyDeletebut i agree with the rest of the article
I skate since i was on 3rd grade and stop untill 7th so now i scoot cuz its fun and cool to try new thing, i learned to tailwhip in one freaking week but my friend has 4 months scooting and he can bearly do 180s 😂 so anyways i probably like more scooters but thats my opinion but some people think theey are god to tell what everyone has to like so i think u should try both see which one u like better 😀 Dont listen to does fucking bitches that say scooter are gay they are the gays
ReplyDeleteSkateboarding debate over I've never scooted in my life outside joking around and can do tricks hop on a skateboard having no idea what ur doing and ur gonna eat shit cause it requires skill. Most basic scooter tricks require 0 skill. I even saw a guy learn to backflip in a day on YouTube who had never really scooted and is a skateboarder plus imo seein a grown man on a scooter is silly as fuck!!!! 😂😂
ReplyDeletehi my name is wiwi nice to meet you i am a sponsored skateboarder from the San Francisco bay area
ReplyDeleteWhat about manuals. Much easier on more wheels no? I skate and scoot. No reason any is harder or easier. Completely different aspects and the fact that they are being compared is HORRIFIC. Its 2017 people.
ReplyDeleteObviously harder to ride a skateboard because no bars to help you balance, but many tricks difficult in both genres requiring much skill and bravery.
