Don't think many people saw this one coming...check out this quote, taken from his facebook-
"Well Maddgear, its been real. I've had so much fun in the past 3 years and learned so many things, met so many people, experenced so many new things. I couldn't thank Madd Gear - MGP Action Sports enough for everything they've done for me. Mike Horne for helping me fulfill my goal of going to Australia to ride my scooter, that was literally the highlight of my life so far and I'm so thankful and will never forget it. Anthony Bustos for always having my back and just looking out for me in general. You da man♥ I'm gonna miss the team soooooo much you guys are what kept me on Maddgear all this time and what made it so hard for me to quit. I won't be seeing you all as much, but I know I'll still be seeing ya tons! You guys are what makes Maddgear what it is, and don't ever forget it!!! I wish you all the best of luck♥"
Phoenix Pro Scooters posted this on their facebook- "So, Yeah. There it is. T-Bone is officially on the Phoenix Pro Team!
We welcome him and look forward to a great future working with him. He completes what i think is the best scooter team in the biz.
You can surely expect a sig deck, sig t-shirt, edits, travel, comps and general craziness in the near future."
Hell ya back to the team!
ReplyDeleteNo, Damn this makes me a little sad, Tylers was the best rider on MADD US and now he left it for a smaller company, I mean I love all the Elyts guys espieally Elliott Arnold and Mitch Baldry, but still really shocked... But it isn't my place to tell him to go back or persecute his decision
ReplyDeleteNo he is going to Phoenix not Elyts, I can see how you would think that though because of the video, but he's going to a worst brand then Elyts and AO, he's going to Phoenix.... Phoenix seems to steal everyone I hate them, they took the Proto guys, Scooterzone, and now Madd Gear, My God!
DeleteIm not sure about other riders, but with the scooter zone guys they first contacted our owner for permission, then team manager, then the riders ray and Ryan for a deck sponsor since at the time scooter zone did manufacture any decks. They did not "steal" them
DeleteI'm honestly suprised he left, I really didn't see that one coming. Good luck t bone! Whatever your doing there is some good reason behind it

Matt sommers......
ReplyDeleteJust a thought but some things are adding up in my head. After doing flat edit3 with Jon Reyes Tyler mysteriously leaves MADD gear and with josh kish recently leaving Phoenix do you think there's a spot on the Phoenix team for Tyler or that might be the direction he's looking? Just a thought.......
ReplyDeletePre sure he is on pheonix now, good on him!
ReplyDeleteTyler better not get on phoenix. That would be fucking lame
ReplyDeleteagree with McKeen that it's an odd choice but maybe a good fit. Phoenix as a company is fading. They have heavy, old products, old technology, old riders, and they are old school. They should just focus on their BMX business. Tyler is past his prime, so maybe they match up.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they should focus on there BMX business, scooters should not have anything to do with piss poor biker dicks , but I do agree that there team is very out dated, and I think they should get rid of Jon and Dan, because honestly they just put out the same lame crap and I think Tyler will be an ok fit for the business
DeleteSam the fact that you think Jon and Dan's riding is "lame crap" is mind blowing to me, the fact that you think Jon and Dan are unworthy of their sponsor because of the videos they produce is mind blowing. There is alot more to sponsors than just putting out edits for them, being mature and respectful to kids that have curiousity and questions torward your sponsor, how well you can communicate with the team and owner, if you genuinly love the the company and the product they make, overall just how much you can positivly represent the company that sponsors you. They both do an amazing job repping phoenix and I honestly believe that without them they would either suffer huge losses or get extremely lucky to get two other people that can rep them as hard as Jon and Dan.
Deleteforgot to say that I know this is you're opinion but i think there are some things you overlooked when you said that.
DeleteDREAM TEAm just like the yankees, got every position of the field covered.....touch us hahaha
ReplyDeleteSam Moss, what are you talking? Phoenix has probably the most stacked team ever man. Jon and Dan are true legends and they're still in the top of the game. Do you think that anyone in the world has more skills than Jon doing flat? Or do you think that someone can do all Dan's tech combos? Come on...
ReplyDeletehahah old and out dated??? McKeen, Addison, JD, BK, are all older than me. They are all homies, the difference between them and I is that I still compete AND I still place high at every event. Doesn't make sense how i'm old and out dated.
ReplyDeletePhoenix IS the highest quality company on the market. Welders, engineers, and shop is all here in America, yea were a small company because we chose to because it's what we stand for, great parts. You want us to move all of our production to china to make more in our margins so we can become this HUGE company? Heavy ass parts, you're probably the size of a shrimp
We have a stacked team, there all homies, and we have a ton of new products coming out this year, along with my own wheel company that has old and out dated riders on it ;)
Jealousy is love and hate at the same time.
Okay when I said lame crap I didn't mean they suck I meant they don't put a lot of good videos up, if they took time like a few months to make a Park Edit they would be awesome and great but they don't do that, Jon put out an alright Flat Edit, and Dan put out a good vid but intro was to long, i love Phoenix but they don't put out really good vids like Lucky, and MADD Gear do. All I think is that Phoenix should put better Vids up all the time
ReplyDeleteYour just like every other kid. PARK PARK PARK. and a ALRIGHT flat edit youve got to be kidding me.... Flat is some of the coolest shit. A park edit? Each rider has there own style. McKeen is street. Tyler is park and so on so think before you speak buddy.
DeleteI understand what Sam is saying, he is saying that they need to put out a good edit with both park and street and that he is getting tired of the same crap which me and most the kids who ride scooters are, but you say all us kids PARK PARK PARK, but all us kids are the future of the sport, so think before you speak buddy

Thank You! ^^^^
DeleteSam Moss you don't understand extreme sports.
ReplyDeleteReading Sam Moss's comments.... ugh...
ReplyDeleteSaying Dan and Jon put out lame crap... lol..wow
They put out a lot of boring stuff is what he's saying and it's not 100% true but it's not a 100% fake either
DeleteSteve your gay, and I hate TBone he's just living in Ryan Williams shadow and I think Dan and Jon suck at riding, Phienix sucks I hate em and Steve ISB is they most dumbazz thing ever I hate Joran Jasa to
DeleteDude shut up, I know everyone's hating on me, even Steve who I look up to, but first of all he's not gay, Jon and Dan aren't my Fav but they don't suck and they are great riders don't get me wrong and Phoenix is a great brand and ISB is amazing everything Steve and Jordan do is sick and sweet, so shut the fuck up
DeleteSam Moss doesnt know anything its funny.
ReplyDeleteI hate Phoenix and MADD Gear, Tyler should go to a good company like Envy/Blunt or even Distrct, do not support either MGP or Phoenix they suck and so do there riders-Billy
ReplyDeleteYea!!! Lets support China company's!!! So dumb Pheonix is a good AMERICAN company not like MADD, envy and district witch are made in CHINA!!
DeleteTK
opinions are like assholes... everybody has one.
ReplyDeletei beleive that everyone should stop fighing over dumb shit and enjoy riding and being part of the scooter comunity. jesus people.
-maxdemoss
Well, that escalated quickly...
ReplyDeleteJon and Dan are still doing combos nobody does. Only a few people can touch true flatland like Jon can. Not only are the two riders original in what they do, but they're consistent and have knowledge. They're still heavy hitters at comps where it's seemingly run by the mid-teenage riders. And believe me, kids. Don't take your body for granted because when you've grown up riding foldable modified scooters on big street and and park obstacles, your body not only regrets the strain of riding, but you as well. Makes it just a bit harder to wake up in the morning. But Jon and Dan put in work to try and counteract that by having a rigorous workout schedule and conditioning of the body. I haven't seen ANYONE in this sport yet that has put in as much work as these two have.
And outdated products?!?! You kidding?! It's all the same methods used on china product with higher quality craftsmanship. Put a Reventon deck against a district or envy any day and the Reventon will outlast it. If it doesn't, guess what?!?! Best customer service and warranties in the game! MADE IN U.S.A. A truly rare thing to say nowadays. You talk about MGP and Envy like they're going to be around forever. And that's even more laughable than the rest of your posts. As soon as their sales dry up, and at MGP, they already are, by experience of my own shop, I don't see MGP lasting much longer with their "pro" scooters. Wouldn't be surprised if within the next few years all they offered was $100 entry level scooters. And even with a crash in the overall scooter market, Phoenix will be here to stay. Those China businessmen will be long gone when it hits.
Now the rest of the team. Raymond, still killing it, and all pros are entitled to a few bad finishes, it happens to the best of them. Tyler is still in it, but since he hasn't had a video released in awhile, kids like you are quick to write him off. Once he is healed, he will be marking Kota in comps, or at least making top 3. Mallot, up and coming rider, he will be something special very soon, call it as investment in his/our future. Stan is Stan, hasn't been a comp rider for awhile, but he kills vert with the best of them. Cooper, highly underrated and quite honestly has been robbed in just about every comp he has entered. Everyone is making moves and putting in real work. Not just flashy videos with tricks only naive kids would enjoy.
I agree with you about Jon and Dan, and Phoenix will be around forever, but I'd have to say that MGP and Envy are probably going to be around just as long, they have already rised to the top of the ranks along with Dustrict and USA's very own Phoenix, so I disagree with you there...
DeleteNever understood why people think weight is more important than the quality of the product overall. You run a slightly heavier deck and it lasts you months longer than those rice patty decks. I've seen street riders grind through District drop outs in a couple months, never see that with a Reventon or most USA made brands.
DeleteReading these comments is really entertaining. I mean........wow.
ReplyDeletewatch out for the next issue of dialed to, a few things talked about in a certain interview isnt quite true to what really went down
ReplyDeleteJust another way that Marcel can lie to his associates and the public. He's a scumbag.
DeleteI saw all these comments hoping for a good hate sesh but everyone was just upset with Sam Moss so it got boring really quick. Better Phoenix that MGP, that's for damn sure.
ReplyDeleteThere upset because no ones aloud to have a damn opinion, if Sam doesnt like Dan and Jon who gives a fuck, josh toy, Micheal Hohmann, Travis, and even you Steven, let's just all enjoy riding like Max Demoss said, ISB is fucking up Scootering and I hate it
Delete-Ryland
Why don't we just stop fighting over a Company, yes in my opinion I'm not a fan of Phoenix, but I never said I liked any others, I'm riding a TSI Threshold with Rad Bars and a Proto Half Knuck with 841 wheels, I'm not riding Phoenix (to expensive) and I'm not riding MGP (to heavy) and I'm not riding District or Envy (to mainstream)
