Ok, now I know we have been successful with these kinds of things before on Inside-Scooters, and I’d like to see that happen again. At one of the most popular skateparks in Southern California, there is a “Ban” on scooters. The skatepark is San Clemente. Most riders are at least familiar with that skatepark, and we’ve seen quite a few edits from So Cal riders where that park is featured.
As most of you know, the sport of Scootering is huge in Southern California, and there is really no reason that a skatepark like San Clemente should be banning the use of scooters. Some of the local residents have tried to get the ban lifted, and sadly, it was a no go. So here is what we need to help make happen.
We need to try and get Scooters onto the California HRA (Hazardous Recreational Activities) List. What this will mean is that Scooter riding will be treated much like Skateboarding is now. Making this happen can be a really positive thing for our sport, not just in California, but in other states as well should people take this action. It takes like 5 minutes people.. support the sport that you’re a part of, and sign the petition below. Thanks guys.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting this! Right now scooters are excluded at many skateparks, by just not being listed on a sign. We had no problems in San Clemente for so long, then all of the sudden the police started enforcing what was listed on the sign. The police started asking scooterers to leave. This could happen to any scooter rider who skates at a public skatepark (at least in Calif) until this law is changed! This law will help existing skateparks and future parks that are built to provide scooter access. The skaters joined together to get their sport on this list and it's OUR time. Please sign...and ask your friends and family to sign too. THANKS!

all you need to do is put an IQ test in place before you enter the skatepark, this way scooters would not be banned, but just not able to enter due to being a bunch of fucking idiots who think that it should be equal with real skatepark worthy sports

ReplyDeleteScooter riders always hang their scooters over the edge of the coping and give you lip when you ask them to get out of the way. They should be banned from all skate parks everywhere in the world. Good they are banned in San Clemente. Who can I see about getting them banned from my local park as well.

Scooters are gay, they should ne banned from skateparks because only thing they do is: Get problems because they snake other people, and then they get their "hero parents" to save them from the evil group of skaters and/or bikers >:(
