RIP Chris Gribble
Last month Chicago area rider Jake Carney was in a car accident and suffered severe injuries that took his life. I wrote that I hoped to never make a post like that again...unfortunately, today I have to do just that. Another member of our sport, Chris Gribble, from Howell, NJ, has died in a car accident. I cannot believe that this has happened such a short time after what happened to Jake. My condolences go out to everyone who knew Chris. I never had the opportunity to meet him, but I do remember him being among the first riders to do barrel rolls. I hope everyone who did know him remembers him for the good times they shared and the kind of person he was.
Although I did not know about him until today, I wish I did, and prayers go out to his friends and family. RIP.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really bad new for the scooter world. Rest in peace, pray for you.
ReplyDeletei remember seeing that second video a long time ago, when i was getting into riding. never knew him.
ReplyDeletewow i cant believe this, he was a good friend back in the day and after he quit we lost contact, he taught me most of my first tricks and he defiantly was one of the pioneers of the sport, RIP chris

ReplyDeleteNever knew him. But that doesn't change anything...The fact that we lost two riders so quick is really harsh.

The good die young. Looked up the news story. Killed because the person he was driving with was drunk. Just lost one of my friends to a drunk driver in May. Shit sucks. RIP Chris.
ReplyDeleteI lived litarly a few streets away and always saw him at tic madd respect and RIP Chris G
ReplyDeleteI was in shock when I found this out...
ReplyDeleteI was one of the many kids who got Chris into scootering. I always rode with him from the time he started till the time he quit. In his mini video up there, the smile after the barrel roll just sums him up. He was always so much fun to be around. He is already and will be missed greatly. Love you so much my dude. See you in the end<3
Two in such a short time... gone forever... I never met either of them, but from what I hear, they were both amazing people. It's such a shame, but I hope Chris is resting in peace, and shredding those barrel rolls in a better place.
ReplyDeletethe back flip street gap video was the first video i ever saw of scootering.its pretty much the reason i started.i saw it and i thought damn this is sick.and the day i saw this.it made me sad to think the reason i started scootering is dead.r.i.p i really wish i could of met him.
ReplyDeleteNever knew him but like many others remember that backflip video from when I first started.
ReplyDeleteRIP prayers go out to his friends and family I bet he was a great gut :)
