Proto has been filming for this DVD for two years now. Everyone that I've talked to who has seen parts of it all say that it is going to be the most innovative video in the sport, something I don't doubt at all. I feel like the name, Catalyst, will prove to be very fitting once it drops. As far as the teaser itself, super well done but it could have used a few more riding clips...but nonetheless, it's awesome to see scooter videos being filmed/edited like that.

ReplyDeleteDan's hang five with the crate was definitely inspired by Steven Hamilton. The VHS quality shots are hilarious considering our sport is barely a decade old, and I can't wait for this to finally come out!

first of all, this video was a TEASER, and if you know anything about scootering or the riders in this video, then you would have been officially teased and hyped on this video. one thing that alot of people in the scooter world dont understand is the concept of a TEASER. the purpose is to show the viewer just enough to make them want to see more, not to release every single banger you have filmed and ruin the actual video.
so unless youre a complete moron, this TEASER is freaking amazing, the editing/filming was flawless, and the riding itself was on a completely different level then most riders in the sport today, most likely including the kid that said the riding wasnt that good. i just have one question for ya big guy, what isnt amazing about brian murphy grinding the handrail at Rincon? or andrew broussard hucking himself off the mega ramp?
did you guys ever think that maybe the good riding is saved for..oh my god.. the ACTUAL VIDEO =0

ReplyDeleteKids these days don't know the concept of what makes a good video, weather it be a scooter or skateboard being presented. With Andrew being in the game longer than I've even thought of scootering. The fact is that he started one of the most visited forum this sport has to offer. Also making products that raise the standards in what we put on our rides today. he is a pioneer. Not to mention the amazing riders backing his team up. I'm going to stop ranting about this one teaser, and save my opinions for what will be the next step in this scooter community. Can't wait for the video to come out.

Theres a difference though, between putting all your bests clips in a teaser and putting only a few. Seriously I'm sure there was enough footy to drop some that aren't even hammers that are still good. I'm nitpicking here but thats my only qualm with the teaser.

Like, to me, this isn't going to be just a video, it's going to be the first real film produced in our sport. Get that into your heads. I mean if it's that hard just look up the definition of Catalyst if you don't know what it means...
I'm so excited for this DVD, this is the real thing, and I feel sorry for those who don't understand what this video will do for scootering.

ReplyDeleteTo me this video is awesome because it exemplifies how far this sport has actually come, all the tech, the style of riding, and the style of film, it all works so well together to portray my feelings about scooters.
Its great to finally see some footage released from the secret closed down water park too.

ReplyDeleteToo many random shots, i love artsy things but there it was definately a bit overdone with the birds. I will be buying the dvd no matter what though, seriously i am stoked. I havent been this excited since Anarky 2 no kidding. Im positive the riding wont dissapoint. Everyone arguing about what a teaser is needs to calm down, obviously it wont be all birds and trains in the actual video.

No actually i dont think SCOOTERS know the idea of a teaser, Lucky ruined it by having to much riding clips, and this ruined it by having hardly any. Dont care what you say. I got bored of it, definately didnt tease me. from what all you guys are saying this will be the most legit scooter video or something? From this teaser alone it looks like it will be preety boring, I know the riders in it are good, not hating on any of the riders.
