Sovereign of Street 2017 - Presented by Tilt

A few weeks ago, The Vault came together with title sponsor Tilt to put on the Sovereign of Street competition. This invite only street comp brought together 25 of the world's best riders to duke it out for the title of King of the Streets. Everyone threw down, but who took home first? Watch to find out.

Content Cop - Scooter Brad

First of all, if you're not familiar with the Youtuber IDubbbzTV, I'd suggest you go subscribe and check out his Content Cop series, which is the inspiration for the video above. IDubbbz is one of my fav Youtubers and I'm always gonna plug him. Anyways, for reasons unknown to me, Scooter Brad still has such a large following despite being terrible. This video, by Full Ride, details many of the reasons why the dude does not deserve to be a "figurehead" in scootering. This is a full on video essay complete with a diss track at the end, which was honestly better than I was expecting. Props to these guys for taking the time to thoroughly research and present their arguments in a logical way.

Hep Greg: Mini Vid 666.

A three year long filming process for Hep Greg has given us this video, aptly named Mini Vid 666, dropping yesterday (Halloween). There are a couple Brooklyn Banks clips in here and it just feels so right to see him riding there again, after being closed for years. Always such a treat to see this guy ride.

Matt Ogle | Shred & Wed

Is it cheesy to film reenactments of moments throughout your relationship and put them in a scooter video? When you're a dude like Matt Ogle, the answer is no. Sometimes when dudes get a girl they pretty much stop riding, but Matt is proof that you don't have to slow down, you can even keep progressing. I remember back in the Inward days when Matt and Jennifer first became a thing, and it's beautiful and inspiring to see them tie the knot after all these years.

Also there is a ton of great riding in here, Matt never fails to surprise me. I'm not saying he did an impossible off a ledge into a bank, but I'm not saying he didn't either.

badgerclit | Welcome To Elite

50 god Badgerclit aka Ryan Ruegg has done it again, this time with a video welcoming him to Elite. I keep thinking about how far scootering has come with the 5050 game and this dude is one of the ones pushing it to the limits. 50 hop over 270 downside into the bank was so perfect. Juiced for him to be on Elite, hope they can support him like he deserves.

Chicago provides many opportunities to those who gather there- education, entertainment, dining, employment. But for those among us searching for the perfect rail, a fresh feeble, the next puzzle to unlock using the act of manually balancing on one wheel as the key, Chicago is the ultimate urban playground.



Richard Harck, hailing just a stone's throw away from the city, has documented over the past year those whom make the pilgrimage to the Windy City. Culminating in this 20 minute montage, Richard has filmed those both coming from near and far, riders known and unknown, to show the world what scootering in Chicago is really like. Locals like Chis Doyle, Sugar Shane the Rapper, Justin Lacosse, and visitors like Issac Miller and Ian Herncjar, with numerous others can be seen here putting their mark on the city, their interpretation of what the streets hold smartly caught through the lens of a Panasonic DVX100, recorded to a miniature digital video tape, captured, edited, and uploaded to Youtube.com for your viewing pleasure. Richard's own vision shines bright throughout- his filming techniques and concepts for clips are not easy to miss. It's not often a filmer puts much thought into what he is producing, but when they do, you can tell.

PROTO En Mexico

The whole Proto squad- Matt McKeen, Chema Cardenas, Alex Steadman, Andrew Broussard, Jake Sorensen, Parrish Isaacs, David Coe, and Kirk Svensson got together earlier this summer to ride down in Mexico around Chema's local spots. With the team finally all in one place for a video (has that ever happened before?) you can be sure that the results are not gonna disappoint. Highlights for me were definitely Chema's nothing, Parrish's front board fakie crook, and Alex's wallride into taco retrieval. But seriously, this video was awesome, well done boys!

Dissidence Coalition 2017 : Martin André, Auguste Pellaud, Jake Sorensen...

Proto boys Jake and Chema joined the local Martin Andre and Auguste Pellaud for this team in the Dissidence Coalition. Loved the intro on this one, Luca Thiebault always does a great job on the production. Martin's superhuman 3 whip bar over the bench though...speechless.

Austin Street Jam 2017

Street Jams are a unique and unforgettable part of scooter culture. Riders young and old coming together for a day of mobbing in the streets, and cracking cold ones with the boys. Mike DeJong put this one together of the Austin Jam, organized by Matt Ogle and Theo Kotyk. Looked like another one for the books!

Leon Lindgren - spring footy

If you don't know Leon Lindgren, the trick at 1:28 will surely cement his name in your brain forever. That's not all he does though, be sure the check the whole video for some all around shredding. Hopefully his next video will have the production to match the riding.

Hella Good Stuff

I've already reviewed Hella Good Stuff, but now you can watch it live on Youtube for free. Haag, Pat Nguyen, K-Closs, and really everyone threw down. Andrew Steinke-Ive Progressed

Cheesy title aside, Steinke-dawg is holding it down for Wisconsin. Taking regular weekend trips down to Chicago and other nearby cities, Andrew is definitely getting better and its awesome to see his journey progress in very much a similar way as myself.

Lucky Scooters | Jackson Burklund | Welcome To Lucky

Here I am scrolling through my Youtube feed and see some dude I don't know turning pro for Lucky. Jackson seems to be following a pretty standard progression but with the support of Lucky it'll be interesting to see what he does in the future. Wallride down heel was a highlight.

Aztek Presents - Anton Abramson

This youtube comment really sums it up: "what a beautiful man. he is graceful. like a swan." Should have redone the ender though, sorry Ton!

Kuba Klimczuk

Rich Harck paired up with one of Chi city's finest, Kuba Klimczuk, for this short part. Rich's filming is starting to get good, and Kuba is a delight to watch. In a time when the Chicago scene seems...lacking, these two are doing their part to bring us the goods.

Will Weske

If you didn't hear, Sky High Scooters finally reopened their website after their conversion to an apparel only company. With new products dropping, it makes sense to have a video come out as well. Wisconsin ripper Will Weske was able to pull through with this part. From California to the Midwest, Will hit some heavy rails and gaps in this one. I've always loved watching him, and I hope we get to see more from the Sky High affiliates.

Hella Ruthless

Last month, Hella Grip flew out all the homies to the HQ for two weeks. The "homies" meaning pretty much all the greatest dudes to ever do it. Josh Young was behind the lens to capture the riding, the chilling, the shenanigans, and it resulted into this amazing video. There are several parts mostly consisting of a few riders each, but Issac brings it home with the ender section. Props to Hella Grip for assembling the best crew ever and making this hella gnar video happen!

DEVIN HEALD IN LA

Devin's riding speaks for itself. Devin headed out to LA for a long weekend with Tommy Daddono to film for Outset and managed to produce one of the best videos of the year. Not only is the scootering top notch, but the filming and editing is as well. Take notes people, this is how to film with a VX. My only complaint is that it's too short!
